Religious Education Registration Registration will be held in the
Religious Education building
Saturday, September 10 from 10
am—5 pm and again after all Sunday
Masses on September 11. Children
ages 4 years old through Grade 8 will
begin class September 18 at 8 am. Sacramental classes will
also be offered Sunday mornings. Thank you for your support
of the Mission’s religion programs. For more information,

Have you always wanted to be an Altar Server?
Have you made your First Holy Communion? Are
you in the 4th grade or a higher grade? Then you
may want to attend one of the Altar Server Train-
ing sessions to be held in the Mission Church from
10-11:30 am and scheduled on one of the following Saturdays:
September 24, October 1, October 8. Altar Servers should be
mature enough to understand their responsibilities and to carry
them out well and with appropriate reverence. If this sounds
like something YOU are interested in, contact Dean Gipson,
Altar Server Coordinator at (858) 761-1073 or

Knights of Columbus, Council 9498, is holding a Member-
ship Drive today after all the Masses. Stop by their table at the
Courtyard exit and talk to a Knight about joining their Council.

Ascension Church in Tierrasanta is hosting a series of
dynamic Catholic speakers who will help us explore our faith at
a deeper level. Talks are free of charge and will be held in the
parish hall at 11292 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, San Diego, 92124.
The next talk, “Apologetics for Chickens” is with speaker
Patrick Coffin, Host of Catholic Answers Live, and will be

Fr. Alex, is today, August 21 at 10 am in the California
Room. This year’s RICA process will begin Thursday,
September 8 at 7 pm in the California Room. This invitation
is precisely that-an invitation! Your acceptance carries no obli-
gation or commitment. We welcome you and pray that the Lord
will bless your journey of faith.
The Ugly Truth about Human Trafficking Combating Human Trafficking was declared by Pope Francis as
a moral imperative. It is modern-day slavery that is both global
and local in its impact on human rights and public safety and is
a $32 billion-a-year global industry with San Diego listed as a
high intensity region. Recruitment of young victims is taking
place in schools, trolley stops, social media and even Churches
across San Diego County. Please join us Saturday, Oct. 15,
9—11 am in the California Room of the St. Francis Center
(lower level) to learn about this issue from experts like Chief
Deputy District Attorney Summer Stephan, and Survivor Tom
Jones and more. A Question & Answer session will follow the
presentation. Refreshments will be served. This presentation is
appropriate for adults and teens. All are welcome.
