The world is hungry, but the emptiness goes far

beyond the table. The need is both physical and

spiritual. At Food for the Hungry, we seek to

end ALL forms of human poverty by going into

the hard places and closely walking with the

world’s most vulnerable people. We actively

partner with churches, leaders, and families to

build relationships, usher in justice, and renew

communities so God’s purpose is revealed in

each person we serve.

We courageously seek out the overlooked and

advocate for the underserved. We’re unrelenting

and we do what others claim can’t be done. We

honor the people we serve by inviting them to

contribute to the process. Through community-

owned transformation we empower children,

families, and communities to invest in their own

development. More than anything, we want to see

people thrive. We are agents of change. We work,

we feed, we teach, we love, but we know when it’s

time to leave. We are ending poverty, together.

For over four decades, we have been serving those

who are living through unimaginable hardships.

Today FH works in more than 20 countries around

the world providing life-changing resources such as

clean water, medical aid, food, education, vocational

training, spiritual development, and hope.

9/11 ANNIVERSARY SUNDAY: Next Sunday, is the

15th Anniversary of 9/11. We are going to have a

special video prelude that will start at 8:00 am and

10:00 am. If you arrive later, please enter quietly for

the sake of those viewing the film. Thank you.

OUR NEXT MEMBERSHIP CLASS will be held on

Saturday, October 15, 2016, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.

OUTREACH MINISTRY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

This group visits new residents of Sun City to share

the love of Jesus and to introduce them to GBC. They

gather every Wednesday at 9:15 am in the Library. If

you are interested in joining them, contact Gil Smith

at 864-561-0007 or just show up Wednesday morning!

DEMENTIA SUPPORT GROUP is for spouses, family

members, and caregivers of anyone diagnosed with

any form of dementia. A separate room and leadership

is provided for those with dementia. The groups meet

on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at

1:00 pm in the Library and Prayer Room.

GRACE MISSIONARY FELLOWSHIP begins again

this Thursday. Join the ladies every Thursday between

9:00 am and 11:00 am, in the Missions Room. We

would love to have you join us as we assemble and

make items for our missionaries for use in their

ministries. For more information, please call Phyllis

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY meets every Saturday at

7:30 am in the Missions Room. The spring/

summer studies are taught by Jerry Miller. David

Kennedy teaches during the fall/winter months.
