6 million square metres, where 5,500 kilometres of carbon and
stainless steel products are manufactured every day, serving more
than 15,000 customers.
Activities in the steel sector and other businesses generated over 4
billion euro turnover in 2012.
Founded in 1959 and fully owned by the Marcegaglia family, the
group is headquartered in Gazoldo degli Ippoliti, Mantova (Italy).

Th e group’s fi nancial results over the last ten years show outstanding growth rates
compared to the fi gures of local and world economies in the same period. Marcega-
glia strategy combines a policy of constant earnings reinvestment and an accurate
process of improving effi ciency in exploiting inputs.
As a result of large-scale investments in manufacturing plants worldwide, the output of car-
bon and stainless steel tubes and sheets has been boosted, expecting to bring global turnover
to nearly 5 billion euro by 2015.
Rezultatele obţinute de grup în ultimul deceniu demonstrează un nivel de creştere cu

Among our manufacturing plants, Ravenna stands out as the
largest production complex, equipped with high capacity pick-
ling, cold rolling, hot-dip galvanizing, annealing, skinpassing and
pre-painting lines, plus Europe’s largest service center.
Marcegaglia Ravenna also serves as the nerve-center and inter-
modal hub of the whole group’s production and distribution net-
work, thanks to effi cient rail connections and internal harbour
docks. First transformation activities also include the manufac-
turing of heavy plates for the building and infrastructure sector as
well as for the carpentry and machinery industry.
