The Flannery O’Connor Collection (46)The Ina Dillard Russell Library established the Flannery O’Connor Collection in1947 when the author’s first story was published. Additional manuscripts weregiven to the library by Regina Cline O’Connor in 1970. The collection has grownand is available for scholarly research. 478-445-0988

The Paul D. Coverdell Papers (46)In 1996, former U.S. Senator Paul Coverdell donated his Peace Corps papers to theIna Dillard Russell Library. In 1999, impressed with the Georgia College mission, hedonated his U.S. Senate papers. 478-445-0988

The Old Governor’s Mansion (38)The mansion served as the home of Georgia’s governors until 1868 and now isopen for tours. Considered one of the finest examples of High Greek Revivalarchitecture in the nation, it was designated a National Historic landmark in 1973.478-445-4545

Natural History Museum and Planetarium (22)Georgia College opened the Natural History Museum in Herty Hall in 2004,boasting one of the largest fossil vertebrate collections in the Southeast. Theadjacent planetarium enables Georgia College students to make realastronomical observations on a simulated but realistic sky. The Planetariumhighlights space telescope observations and is available as a field trip experiencefor local school children. 478-445-0809

Russell Auditorium (45)A campus landmark, the auditorium features Greek Revival architecture and anelegant décor. Seating up to 982, including a balcony, centered on a 1,000-square-foot stage and orchestra pit, Russell is the main performance space forGeorgia College music, theatre and dance productions. 478-445-6542

Max Noah Recital Hall (27)Located on the third floor of Porter Hall with seating for 150, Max Noah Recital Hallprovides an intimate performance space for chamber music concerts and smalltheatre productions. 478-445-6572

Museum of Fine Arts (53)The Georgia College Foundation purchased the Lucy Underwood House, designedby prominent Atlanta architect Philip Schutze, and converted it into art galleryspace. It houses the university’s permanent collection. 478-445-4572

Campus Theatre (8)Georgia College restored the art deco exterior of the 1935 Campus Theatrebuilding and remodeled the interior for the GC Bookstore, to serve both thecollege and the community, a “black box” performance theatre and offices for theDepartment of Theatre. Included is theatre space may be rented for specialfunctions. 478-445-2749

Centennial Center (10)Home to the Georgia College Bobcats, the Centennial Center provides 4,071 seatsand can accommodate another 800 floor chairs. It can be used for large events,such as concerts, conference general sessions or exhibits. 478-445-6742

Sallie Ellis Davis House (47)In 2008, Georgia College joined the Sallie Ellis Davis Foundation in a partnership torenovate this historic house and open it as a cultural center. Recognized by theGeorgia Trust for Historic Preservation, the house was home to Sallie Ellis Davis, alocal educator who touched the lives of hundreds of African-American children,many of whom, as adults, formed the Sallie Davis Foundation. 478-445-5400

AndalusiaOnce home to famed American author and alumna Flannery O’Connor, Andalusiaspans more than 500 acres and includes the historic plantation house where theauthor lived and wrote some of her most acclaimed fiction. O’Connor returned tothe estate in 1951 and it was her final home upon her death in 1964. Today,Andalusia serves as a museum with the mission to care for, collect, interpret andexhibit items that illustrate the history of the site during the time O’Connor lived onthe property. Andalusia is open for public tours and was listed on the NationalRegister of Historic Places in 1980. 478-445-8722
