BEDMART HAWAII TRUCKOpening stores in Hawaii, BedMart needed to connect with the the indigenous culture. One of the strategies was to focus on surfing related imagery. Putting an image of mattress strapped to top of a classic Woody car did the trick. The Woody photo was originally black and bare. Juicing this up in Photoshop made it pop, while also enabling it to be high enough resolution to look good covering the back of the truck. Catching the eye of the locals, they followed the truck back to the store and sales were created.

FLOOR PLANSWorking with the BedMart Merchandising department, I built floor plans for all of the 30+ stores. These were all updated on a quarterly basis to communicate with the sales team and other to departments, as well as keep track the new product as it was introduced and set up on the sales floors.

SOCIAL MEDIA LIFESTYLE POSTSAs social media has grown to be one of the most important cornerstones in marketing, an at least daily post has become a necessity. To keep it fresh for the audience, we put together posts along a handful of themes that were then alternated. These 3 were among the “Sleep, Health, & Inspiration” theme.

SUNSHINE DIVISION GOLF TOURNAMENTThe Portland Sunshine Division provides food and clothing relief to Portland families in partnership with the Portland Police Bureau. The Golf tournament is one of their major fundraisers. Approaching with their old design we worked together to revitalize the event identity to create a larger draw and elevate campaign recognition.

BAG THAT BEDSupplying customers regularly with mattress bags for moving and storing necessitated BedMart to carry a higher quality product that is generally available to the public. I created the product identity and then developed the packaging for mass production.

Tempest - Shakespeare Poster | 8
TEMPESTSHAKESPEARE POSTEROriginal Practice Shakespeare, an independent non profit, performs free Shakespeare plays in Portland public parks. I have created many posters for their play performances. The Tempest is one among my favorites. Starting with pencil hand drawn illustrations that are then scanned and digitally processed, the posters are then filled in with color and assembled in Photoshop. These are put together at a high enough resolution to be used for printed backdrops at fund raisers and events..

CAMPAIGNSOver the course of my 6.5 years with BedMart we created a campaign per month, sometimes more. There were often several happening at once. There were also multiple markets that needed special attention, such as stores in Hawaii and Outlet stores.
With the Beavers Score & Save campaign we worked with the Beavers Marketing Team to put together a visual identity that matched with in accordance with their branding approval, while incorporating the BedMart branding and communicating the promotional messaging. This was also introducing a new football coach, Gray Andersen, and all needed to be met with his approval as well.
The TV commercial was shot at the Oregon State Beavers stadium, with the coach and BedMart spokesperson Elana, following the shots I had outlined in my initial storyboard. During the commercial shoot I also shot the still photography that would be used across the rest of the campaign.
The campaign included a myriad of items, some of which is represented on the following pages.

TV COMMERCIALSFor the commercials I planned out shots, assistant directed, created the graphics, and planned out the animation, most of which was guided by an initial storyboard that was then updated with actual video footage screenshots that enabled placement of the graphics to fit visually with video subjects.I worked on more than 160 commercials that were widely televised in Portland and Hawaii areas.

WEBSITE CAMPAIGNSEach campaign needs to be represented across several pages of the company website. The main promotional designs were the Home Page Header as the as well as a Web Ads Landing page and a Specials page, but also included elements that echoed throughout the website and onto Product Pages.

WEB ADSWith each BedMart campaign were matching Web Ads that were several various sizes according to device and website viewing in accordance with Google advertising. These particular ad sizes were to the preference and approval of the Beavers marketing team.

STORE PACKETS & AD PACKSWith each monthly campaign I assembled packets for stores that could include up to 90 documents. Among these documents were items such as Price Tags and other signage, Display Requirements, Customer Promotion Overview Sheet, Internal Pricing Pages, and the below Ad Pack. The Ad Pack was used to communicate the details of various promotions within the campaign across the company. These are a quick way to share the dates, products, pricing, signage, and advertising associated with a promotion item.
