The Battle of Los Angeles

Of the 1.5 million inhabitants of L.A.,hundreds of thousands of anxiousmothers, fathers, teenagers, andchildren stood in their yards watching,and hearing the booming of the giantguns. Here’s the photograph of thebattle of L.A. in the February 26, 1942issue of the Los Angeles Times. You seespotlights from 9 army artillerypositions, firing 50 caliber machineguns, and 12.8 pound anti-aircraft shellsfrom the hills near the city. The ovalshaped object is seen in the center withsmaller objects moving around it. Directhits were made by the exploding shellswithout effect.

Along with many buildings andvehicles, you can see where this car washit by bullets or shrapnel from theexploding shells over the city. Thelicense plate reads, California 1942.

It is very rare that thereshould appear a UFO case which involved the military. Such is the case ofan event which took place over the Los Angeles area on February 25,1942. As America was gathering its senses after the recent and shockingattack on Pearl Harbor, there was a heightened feeling of insecurity andanxiety. The skies were being watched as never before as a giant UFOmoved toward California, alerting the military and civilian watchers aswell. This case is known as the "Battle of Los Angeles.”

The giant hovering object was soon lit up by gigantic spotlights of theArmy's 37th Coast Artillery Brigade. Everyone who looked up wasshocked by the sight of the massive UFO sitting above their city. Onewitness reported that it was larger than the shopping mall. [Many pictureswere taken like the one you see here from the Los Angeles Timesnewspaper. You can see the oval shaped object in the center of the lights.Notice that instead of the lights going past it, all light is stopped within it,and goes no farther. If nothing was there, the lights would extend fartherup into the sky.] The giant UFO would take direct hit after hit from theartillery shells, yet without damage. The 37th Brigade was relentless in itsattempt to bring down the large object but found no success. No placewas safe this night. Many were injured. It moved directly over the MGMstudios. [The UFO demons enjoyed greeting the demons in Hollywood.]

The Woman Air Raid Warden Gives Testimony: "It was huge! It was justenormous! And it was practically right over my house. I had never seenanything like it in my life!" she said. "It was just hovering there in the skyand hardly moving at all. It was a lovely pale orange and about the mostbeautiful thing you've ever seen. [Angels can be very beautiful.] I couldsee it perfectly because it was very close. It was huge!” [It reminds manyof the huge, gorgeous, UFO they saw in the 1996 movie entitled,“Independence Day.” Satan likes to show the world what he is planning todo in advance because he copies God in showing what He is planning todo in advance in Bible prophecy.] The people of Los Angeles, with morethan 1.5 million citizens were afraid their city was in the enemy’s sights.Those fears were confirmed on the night of Feb. 23, when a Japanesesubmarine surfaced off California and fired on oil refinery installationsnorth of Santa Barbara.

At 1:44 a.m. on Feb. 25, some 24 hours after the oil refinery attack, radarpicked up an unidentified object flying 120 miles off the coast. For the next45 minutes, three radar units tracked the object as it moved east towardMalibu before turning south and edging down the coast toward LosAngeles. At 2:21 a.m. Los Angeles was placed under a black-out, andgunners were put on green alert, a status to fire at will. [The sudden“blackness” led to the crash of three car drivers, and before they knewwhat was happening, they were dead. Two more would die that night ofheart attacks. “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and inthe stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the seaand the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for lookingafter those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heavenshall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloudwith power and great glory.” Luke 21:25-27.]

At 2:43 a.m., the military made its first visual contact with the UFO,south of downtown. Within seconds, the air above Los Angeles wasexploding with 50-caliber machine gun bullets, and 12.8 pound anti-aircraftshells. The barrage awakened citizens who emerged from their homes tofind the landscape under a cloak of darkness, the only light coming frommilitary searchlights trained on the sky. From sidewalks and yards,hundreds of thousands of the 1.5 million citizens watched as the spectacle unfolded abovethem.

Scott Littleton, who lived with his family in Hermosa Beach, described it to the HistoryChannel as “A lozenge, a long oval. Shells were exploding all around it.”

Bill Tompkins said that he saw a very large vehicle that “moved in and stopped rightabove us.” He said, “There were smaller vehicles that were moving around and above it.”

By 4:14 a.m., the object was gone. After a nearly two-and-a-half-hour visit, it hadn’t movedaway, it had just vanished. The next morning, the Los Angeles Times published an account ofthe encounter, with the picture showing the mammoth sized oval thing in the center.

This “battle” is shocking to many, but it doesn’t surprise us at all. Why not? Because the prophet said, “Fearfulsights of a supernatural character will soon be revealed in the heavens, in token of the power of miracle-workingdemons. [Satan will continue to use UFOs and other forms of spiritualism to accomplish this quote -] The spirits ofdevils will go forth to the kings of the earth and to the whole world, to fasten them in deception, and urge them on tounite with Satan in his last struggle against the government of heaven. By these agencies, rulers and subjects will bealike deceived.

“In different parts of the earth, Satan will manifest himself among men as a majestic being of dazzling brightness,resembling the description of the Son of God given by John in the Revelation. {Revelation 1:13-15}. The glory that

surrounds him is unsurpassed by anything that mortal eyes have yet beheld. The shoutof triumph rings out upon the air: ‘Christ has come! Christ has come!’ The peopleprostrate themselves in adoration before him while he lifts up his hands andpronounces a blessing upon them, as Christ blessed His disciples when He was uponthe earth. His voice is soft and subdued, yet full of melody. In gentle, compassionatetones he presents some of the same gracious, heavenly truths which the Saviouruttered; he heals the diseases of the people, and then, in his assumed character ofChrist, he claims to have changed the Sabbath to Sunday, and commands all to hallowthe day which he has blessed. He declares that those who persist in keeping holy theseventh day are blaspheming his name by refusing to listen to his angels sent to themwith light and truth. This is the strong, almost overmastering delusion.” GC 623, 624.

The devil has gone hog wild because thefiend knows that he’ll be turned to ashes. Eze.28:19. Do you like to see signs that dear Jesusis coming soon? Here are two men. When thedevil has succeeded in making men, women,and sodomites dress alike, and mate witheach other, and with animals, you’ll know that“As a snare shall it come on all them thatdwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch yetherefore, and pray always, that ye may beaccounted worthy to escape all these thingsthat shall come to pass, and to stand beforethe Son of man.” Luke 21:36.

Most people don’t know that it wasRome {during the “Inquisition” of the“dark ages”} that accounted God’speople guilty until proven innocent. Itwill happen again. “Father” Frank Matera PhD is quoted on page 65 of the adult Sabbath SchoolQuarterly for Sunday, August 13, in the Quarterly for July, August, & Sept. of 2017,named, “The Gospel in Galatians.” On that page it says that our union with Christmeans that what is true of Christ is also true of us. At the bottom of that page it says -“Dwell on the thought that what is true of Christ is also true of us.”

Faith: Christ is God. John 1:1. Is that true of us? Dear Jesus said, “No man comethunto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6. Is that true of us? Is it true of the pope? TheBible says, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the manChrist Jesus.” I Tim. 2:5. Is the pope that “one mediator”?

Pastor Jan: In 1993 I could see that many ofGod’s people desired to study a quarterly that hasonly the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy. So we madeone - which has been printed every quarter of everyyear since then, though we haven’t saved all the backissues. I was surprised when Andrews Universityordered it for their library. Many of you don’t knowthat it even exists because I haven’t wanted tocompete with the regular quarterly, so I haven’t evenmentioned it for a long, long time. “A hush fell upon the disciples.Even Peter did not attempt to expressthe awe that filled his heart. The boatsthat had set out to accompany Jesus hadbeen in the same peril with that of thedisciples. Terror and despair had seizedtheir occupants; but the command ofJesus brought quiet to the scene oftumult. The fury of the storm haddriven the boats into close proximity,and all on board beheld the miracle. Inthe calm that followed, fear wasforgotten. The people whispered amongthemselves, ‘What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?’

was no trace of fear in word or look, for no fear was in Hisheart. But He rested not in the possession of almighty power.It was not as the ‘Master of earth and sea and sky’ that Hereposed in quiet. “How often the disciples’ experience is ours! When thetempests of temptation gather, and the fierce lightningsflash, and the waves sweep over us, we battle with the stormalone, forgetting that there is One who can help us. We trustto our own strength till our hope is lost, and we are ready toperish. Then we remember Jesus, and if we call upon Him tosave us, we shall not cry in vain. Though He sorrowfullyreproves our unbelief and self-confidence, He never fails togive us the help we need. Whether on the land or on the sea,if we have the Saviour in our hearts, there is no need offear. Living faith in the Redeemer will smooth the sea of

life, and will deliver us from danger in the way that Heknows to be best. [Praise God!]

“There is another spiritual lesson in this miracle of the stilling of the tempest... ‘The wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannotrest... There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.’ Isa. 57:20,21.Sin has destroyed our peace. While self is unsubdued, we can find norest. The masterful passions of the heart no human power can control.We are as helpless here as were the disciples to quiet the raging storm.But He who spoke peace to the billows of Galilee has spoken the

word of peace for every soul. However fierce the tempest, those

who turn to Jesus with the cry, ‘Lord, save us,’ will

find deliverance. [Praise God!] His grace, that

reconciles the soul to God, quiets the strife of human

passion, and in His love the heart is at rest. ‘He

maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. Then are they glad because they be
