INTRODUCTION
EPM12119 is towards the north of a contiguous block of five exploration leases currently held or operated Gulf Mines Ltd between Musgrave and Coen on the Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland. It is almost completely surrounded by EPM15369, which is also operated by Gulf Mines Ltd. These leases are operated as one project, named the Ebagoola Project, as they cover one extensive gold mineralizing system. Reports for each individual lease are submitted separately. The historical Hamilton and Yarraden Goldfields, as well as isolated mineral occurrences, fall within the project area. The Hamilton Goldfield entirely falls within this lease
As it was the original lease for the project, EPM 12119 was granted for three years on 11 February 2004. An application to renew this tenement was submitted on the 10 January 2007 and was granted on the 13 June 2008 and backdated to the 11 February 2007.
Mr Glensk, the original owner of EPM 12119, entered into an option agreement with Gulf Mines Limited on 24th November 2005 whereby Gulf Mines Limited could purchase EPM 12119 and the three enclosed mining leases (listed below). Gulf Mines assigned all its legal and equitable interest in EPM 12119 and the three mining leases to Ebagoola Gold Mines Pty Ltd, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gulf Mines Limited, on 15th March 2006.
The three leases are combined into one project (PJ 40057) known as “Golden Sword”. The locations of these leases and EPM 12119 are shown on Figure1. The period of the option agreement was three years. During this period Gulf Mines Limited completed subsurface “hard rock” exploration, while Mr Glensk was free to continue his surface exploration for elluvial and alluvial gold occurrences. Gulf Mines Limited exercised the option on 25th June 2006. The company will apply to the Mines Department to register the change in ownership when the EPM is renewed.
Exploration under this agreement in previous years has entailed a literature review of the open file reports of previous explorers; mapping and rock chip sampling of historical workings; systematic soil sampling in the vicinity of a number of old prospects; and an airborne-radiometric and aeromagnetic survey. Since the listing of Gulf Mines Ltd in mid 2007, exploration has continued with greater intensity. Diamond drilling and IP geophysical surveys have been conducted along with less costly methods.

LOCATION AND ACCESS
The tenement is situated approximately 50 kilometers south of Coen on Cape York Peninsula, within the area of the Hamilton Goldfield. Access to the area is provided by the Peninsula Development Road and then via tracks belonging to Yarraden Station. A small proportion of the southern end of the lease is within Bamboo Station. The EPM is situated in tropical savannah with low hills and intermittent creeks. Vegetation consists mainly of patchwork of bloodwoods, stringy barks, boxes, melaleucas, and other eucalypts while the undergrowth consists of cycads, palms, grass-trees, wattles, grevilleas, banksias and grasses. Isolated fruit trees (Mango and Tamarind) give evidence of previous human habitation. The land is suitable for light grazing and is classified as Class VII for the purposes of an environmental overview management strategy (EMOS).

REGIONAL GEOLOGY
The Ebagoola project lies within the Coen Inlier, a north trending belt of Proterozoic Metasediments intruded by Late Silurian to Early Devonian granitoids of the Cape York Peninsula Batholith. In the Ebagoola region, a belt of metasediments, the Coen Metamorphic Group, trends approximately north-west. It is composed of a sequence of schists, quartzites, amphibolites, and gneisses with varying proportions of biotite, muscovite, quartz, garnet, and sillimanite. A north-south belt of granitoids, the Flyspeck Supersuite is found to the south and immediately to the west of the belt of Coen Metamorphics. It is composed of granites, monzogranites, granodiorites, and tonalite. Flanking both is the Kintore Supersuite of granitods, composed of granite to leucogranite.
To the west and southwest of the Kintore Supersuite is a large belt of metamorphics from the Holroyd Metamorphic Group, slightly older than the Coen Metamorphic Group. It is not found within any of these tenements.
Sub parallel to and partly within the belt of Coen Metamorphics is the Ebagoola (or Tadpole) shear, a major and long lived structure which forms one of the controls on mineralization. The Spion Kop Fault is a north trending fault largely seen within the Flyspeck Supersuite. It also forms a control on mineralization, hosting a mineralized plug, and geographical feature, known as Spion Kop. It is therefore of primary interest to this lease, especially as the historically productive Yarraden Goldfield also appears to lie on the fault. Other lesser faults, such as the Nappabina fault, may have some relation to mineralization.
High level Permo-Carboniferous dykes of rhyolitic, andesitic, and occasionally basaltic composition occur throughout the project area. These dykes tend to follow the dominant regional structures. In the south of the project area, they form a broad, north east trending linear zone, known as the Flying Fox Lapunya Zone. Along the Ebagoola Shear and Spion Kop Fault, the dykes trend approximately northwest and north respectively.
In the Hamilton and Yarraden Goldfields, within EPM12119 and EPM15369 respectively, gold mineralization is hosted in fissure filling quartz veins and stockworks in and near the Ebagoola shear and Spion Kop Fault. They are multiple-veined with solid quartz lenses in places. In others irregular fissure fillings surrounded by weakly sheared country rock. Veins are massive, laminated with open space, cockscomb rosette quartz, crack-seal style, brecciated with angular country rock fragments. Cloudy areas of very fine grained arsenopyrite and pyrite are present, and correlate with gold mineralization, although not necessarily with high grade. At Spion Kop itself, mineralization is a little different, and is hosted in silicified brecciated volcanic material.
The gold reefs were mined selectively and range from 0.3m to 1.5m thick within vein systems, the largest being Ebagoola 4000m, Golden King 900m, and Savannah 250m in length. In the past over 20 reefs were being worked simultaneously with principle producers being Caledonia (3279 ozs gold), Hamilton King (3649 ozs gold), May Queen (2572 ozs gold), and Lukin King (2058 ozs gold) in the Yarraden area. Maximum depth of workings was 65m. Fineness varied from Au:Ag 3:1 to 1:6 (electrum). Coarse nugget gold is a feature of the field, although fine-grained gold is recorded.

EXPLORATION CONDUCTED
INTRODUCTION
Exploration for the period involved diamond drilling, induced polarization (IP)/resistivity ground geophysical surveys, reconnaissance/structural geological mapping, rock chip sampling, soil sampling, ground scintillometer surveying, and stream sediment sampling. The Ebagoola shear is the principle control on mineralization in this lease, with a subtle contribution from the almost N-S trending shear zone related to the Spion Kop fault. Drilling focused on IP anomalies (generated in 2007) situated along the former structure, while the IP survey investigated a number of mineralized zones also related to that shear.
Results
Diamond Drilling
Twelve “full” holes were drilled during the year, and one aborted hole that reached a depth of about 12m. Following on from the numbering system of last year, these were given the numbers EBD08009 to EBD08020, with EBD08013A and EBD08013B being the aborted and completed holes respectively, on the same pad. Total diamond drilling for the year was 1188.4m, all HQ core size. Details of drill holes drilled in current field season can be seen in Table 2. After geological logging, the core was cut in half using a diamond impregnated core saw. One half was sent for assaying, and the other retained for future use. The sample intervals were based on the visible geology. Thicker geological units were often subdivided into 1m splits, such that sample sizes ranged from 0.5-1.5m, based on geology. Full Drill Logs can be seen in Appendix 5. Drill hole locations can be seen in figure 3.
The holes were generally situated to test IP anomalies. Prospect areas drilled were Queenslander, Queenslander North, Last Hit, and Marks Reef. Mineralization was often encountered, but was at best mediocre. Arguably the most encouraging was found at the end of EBD08015. Designed as a scissor hole to test the Queenslander North vein from the opposite direction to NND07001 (previous years drilling), it was drilled to a depth of 116.5m with the last 5.5m in mineralization. An intersection of 4.4m at 1.48ppm Au from 110.9m was calculated. Unfortunately the hole was halted too early, but there was indication to suggest that grossly, the vein was dipping in the same direction as drilling (which would have lead to an unnaturally wide apparent intersection).
Apart from the grades in EBD08015, best intersections were 0.5m at 4.09ppm Au from 84.2m in EBD08020, and 0.9m at 2.46ppm Au from 19.6m in EBD08016. The quartz vein at Marks Reef produced the former grade, and other came from the vicinity of Last Hit. Some of the drilling at Queenslander intersected the known vein system, resulting in a number of grades a little below 1ppm Au.
Although sometimes weakly mineralized, the strong IP anomalies were found to be a poor predictor of gold mineralization. Carbonaceous shearing was the dominant cause of the IP affect, and swamps the weak influence from potentially mineralization related pyrite.

The survey followed on from the work completed in 2007, with the gradient array at Random and Marks Reef covering earlier dipole-dipole work. The balance of the work was to investigate reef systems and other areas of interest that were not covered in the prior year.
Geological Mapping
Geological mapping was undertaken on the lease during the year. Old prospect maps from past explorers (principally Ross Mining) were ground truthed. They were registered into MapInfo after prominent features were located on the ground, and the location recorded with a GPS. Following the completion of such prospect mapping, many structural readings were taken on outcrop and positioned using the GPS. Rock outcrops and trends were traced using the same procedure.
Rock Chip Sampling
Rocks were sampled in conjunction with mapping, leading to a thorough coverage of the potentially mineralized veins encountered in this lease. Three hundred and eighty-two samples were taken, with the significant grades shown in the table below (Table 4), listed in descending order of Au grade. As can be seen the Violet prospect has the highest grades, and contributed a large proportion of all of the good grades. The relevant statistics for all of the samples from EPM12119 are included in the appendix 1.

Soil Sampling
Scintillometer Survey
A ground scintillometer was used to run a survey over many of the veins on the EPM12119 lease. Spacing between the points was generally 25m, spacing between the lines varied from prospect to prospect. The scintillometer work was not designed to produce immediate exploration targets, and was somewhat experimental. Analysis of the results is ongoing, and may be able to be used to locate areas of alteration, or to map out changes in lithology.Scintillometer results can be seen in Appendix 4.
Soil Survey
Standard (pulverize, acid digest, ICP-MS and ICP-AES) soil sampling was undertaken over EPM12119. Soil samples were sieved to -1.6mm. Samples were sent to ALS Townsville where they were analyzed for Au and As.
A total of 543 BLEG soil samples were taken on the lease, including 16 duplicates. Samples were collected over a variety of prospect areas in EPM 12119 including Trafalgar, Johannesburg, Last Hit, Good Luck, Marks Reef, Violet, Hit or Miss, Queenslander North, Saint Albans South, and Caledonia and Unnamed 1. Full sample details can be seen in Appendix 3.
Amongst the standard soil samples, 14 had a grade better than 0.1ppm Au, with 3 samples returning a result of 1ppm. The results of 1ppm were located in Trafalgar and Unnamed 1 prospect areas. Arsenic was the only other element assayed, and returned a best grade of 685ppm, and correlated approximately with Au grades. 4 samples were destroyed in transit and returned no result.
Stream Sediment Sampling
Stream sediment sampling was carried out in a number of places on the Ebagoola project area, including EPM12119. In other leases it was an important follow up of historical work. In this lease it was used partly to increase our understanding of stream sediment gold anomalism, as well as a method to prospect for new points of interest. Samples were collected at sedimentary trap sites in various streams, with the trap conditions recorded. The deep sandy nature of the project area meant that some of the samples were situated in deep sand, and did not represent good trapping conditions.
A map of the drainage patterns on the EPM12119 lease was produced. The outline of the source area for each sample is shown, and is colour coded for grade. Small streams outside of the sample drainage areas were not digitized. As can be seen from the table 5 and the map, high gold grades were found, with the best two samples of 2957 and 1566ppb Au. Full details of stream sediment samples can be seen in Appendix 2.

1. INTRODUCTION1.1. SummaryAt the request of Bill Paterson, Exploration Manager, Gulf Mines Ltd, a field crew from Planetary Geophysics Pty Ltd (www.planetarygeophysics.com.au) completed IP/Resistivity surveys at Ebagoola in Northern Queensland, Australia.
Thirty IP/Resistivity lines using the dipole-dipole technique and three Gradient array blocks were completed by a three man crew on various prospects in the area. The survey was carried out in the period 10 August to 2 November with the crew having a break between 18 September and 18 October.
1.2. PersonnelDan Roycroft led the project for Planetary with field operations also carried out by Morgan Cavanagh, Craig McCondach and Shaun Watson.

2. SURVEY STATISTICS AND PROCEDURES2.1. IP/ResistivityEquipment used for the surveying consisted of an Elrec Pro 10 channel IP/resistivity receiver and a GDD3600 transmitter. The equipment is owned and operated by Planetary Geophysics. The receiver was manufactured by Iris Instruments of Orleans, France (www.iris-instruments.com) and the transmitter by Instrumentation GDD Inc of Quebec, Canada (www.gddinstrumentation.com). All IP measurements were made in the time-domain using a two second half-duty cycle. An integration window of 0.5 to 1.1 seconds has been used for the final chargeability calculation.
2.2. Dipole-dipole Surveys50 meter Dipole-dipole lines were read to N = 6 at all prospects except Flying Fox where 100 meter dipole-dipole was surveyed to n = 8.
A total of 24.8 line km’s of dipole-dipole were completed. Tables I through to XV summarize each prospect. All coordinates in GDA94 UTM Zone 54
