Ribbon Tabs and Ribbons have replaced menus found in previous versions of Word.

Tabs identify groups of commands (tools) you use to format and build a document. The tools are located in the Ribbon under each Ribbon Tab. The Home Ribbon Tab is a collection of frequently used tools.

NOTE: You can now save Office files in a PDF format. From the Save as Dialog box, select .PDF in the Save As Type field.

If there are tools that you access frequently and they are not easily accessible, you can customize the

ribbons. To do so, right click anywhere in the ribbon and select

1. OneDrive (cloud) – files can be accessed from anywhere withan internet connection. You can share presentations withother individuals.

3. Computer:Network drive (M:, L: or P:) – files are shared with otherWellSpan employees who have access to that drive; can only beaccessed if at a WellSpan machine or connected via VPN. Note:On M drive there is a folder with your username – this ispersonal and no one else can access files saved to this folder.ORC: Drive (includes Desktop and My Documents – Notrecommended – do not use as files are available to anyone thatlogs in to that machine and files are at risk of being lost ifmachine fails.

2. SharePoint - files can be saved to a SharePoint site as long asyou have access to it. Other employees that have access canview/edit these documents.
