• Uses a macro to step through and add the fields• This allows you to import the basic asset record and books – but

must be performed in 2 steps• Disadvantage:

• Ties up GP (user must be logged in and running the utility; user cannot work in GP while it is running)

• HAVE to have all columns listed in the import file – even if you leave them blank

• Uses a eConnect logic to step through and add the fields• Can import more information in 1 step• Advantage:

• Does not require you to be logged into GP – does not prevent you from working in GP

• Can eliminate columns you don’t need in the file• Disadvantage:

• Need to install the fixed asset feature/integration manager and add eConnect to your machine

• Can be challenging to use for novice users of integration manager

Use the Fixed Assets Mass Retirement window to record the retirement of all assets in an asset group (usually fully depreciated assets you want to remove from your books)

Use the Retirement Undo window to reactivate a retired asset. • Incorrect Asset selected• Performed a partial retirement and should’ve been a full

retirement

Use the Transfer Maintenance window to record the transfer of an asset from one location, structure ID, account number, or master asset ID to another.

Just changing the information DOES NOT create an audit trail as to when/who performed the change

Use the Reverse Depreciation checkbox to:• Re-run depreciation for a month because you found a

mistake OR • You accidentally deleted the batch on the Financial side and

don’t want to just recreate the general ledger journal entry by using Financial>>Inquiry>>Fixed Assets to bring up the Batch that was created and posted to the Subledger

Posts the transaction detail to the Fixed Asset Subledger and transfers the detail to the General Ledger in a Batch to be posted or deleted. • You can review and edit information before creating a General Ledger

batch.
