Acoustic Echo CancellingAcousticEchoCancelling(AEC)isoneofthekey components of Voice SDK. It is an ext-remely robust solution realizing full-duplexcommunication inawidevarietyofuseca-ses. It enables a VDA-compliant hands-freesystemwith an Echo Return Loss Enhance-ment (ERLE) of at least 45 dB. Fully linearecho cancelling is combinedwith non line-ar processing (residual echo suspression),maintainingfull-duplexoperationtothegre-atestpossibleextent.

Single Microphone Noise ReductionNoiseReduction(NR) is thesecondcoreal-gorithm of an automotive hands-free SDK.With only one microphone, NR is capableofattenuatingstationaryor slowlymodula-tingnoise componentsup to20dB. This isachieved by a proprietary algorithm,whichis capable of distinguishing between voicecomponents and slowly modulating noisecomponents,whicharetypicalforautomoti-vehands-freeapplications.ThelevelofnoiseattenuationindBisatuneableparameter.

Array TechnologyWithtwomicrophones,noisereductioncanbe furtherenhanced compared toa single-microphonesolution.Thesecondmicropho-neprovidesspatialinformationaboutsitua-tions of both voice signal and disturbances

that come from different directions. As aresult also non-stationary disturbances likeinterferingvoicescanbeefficientlyreduced.OpenSynergyoffersdifferent variantsof ar-ray technologies for different microphonespacings andmicrophone types (conventio-nalcardioidECMsormodernMEMSmicro-phones).
