What MeTIBas is about Pilot Project of international cooperation through which the Region Basilicata meets the objectives of the ERDF 2007/2013 OP by means of:

building partnership networks, twinning and exchange of experience at interregional and transnational level (Basilicata, France, Spain); greater collaboration and synergy between public administrations, businesses and universities, including the world of work and research; need for innovative non-invasive monitoring for the identification and protection of cultural and environmental heritage.

Interdisciplinary approaches

1.  Use of experts in geomorphology, geoarchaeology, geopedology,

mineralogy and geochemistry, geophysics, archeology, historical maps, ancient topography, photo interpretation, remote sensing, cartography and geographic information systems;

2.  Analysis and study of the territorial context; 3.  Transfer and international exchanges of experience and knowledge

(methods, diagnostic tools and analysis).

Goals Activity 1. INVESTIGATIONS ON THE FIELD AND DATA COLLECTION data for scheduling the archaeological and administrative local needs (promotion, protection, planning, etc.).. Activity 2. ANALYSIS AND DATA PROCESSING 1. analysis and interpretation to identify and interpret the traces of ancient human frequentations; 2. contextualization of archaeological evidence in the geomorphological and palaeoenvironmental context of reference. Activity 3. RISK ASSESSMENT AND GEOARCHAEOLOGICAL ROUTES Assessment of geological, geomorphological and hydrological hazard of the sample, together with the vulnerability of the elements and assets at risk and the level of risk posed by different natural phenomena, with particular reference to induced phenomena by meteorological or climatic processes (i.e. the flood in Basilicata on March 2011). Activity 4. WORKSHOP: TRANSFER OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXCHANGE OF GOOD PRACTICE guidelines and procedures to be applied, which may become the standard work in the study of territorial and geoarchaeological development in the context of Cultural Heritage. Activity 5. DISCLOSURE AND COMPARISON WITH STAKEHOLDERS Promote the transfer of knowledge, methods and results to end-users identified in variety of subjects, institutions and organizations responsible for the protection, enhancement and management of the land, the environment and Cultural Heritage.
