Whats been nagging me is the justifi-cation by the mayors husband foryelling &/or striking Councillor Kroeker:that he was harassing his wife... Howso, Sam?

Had to be Harrys preamble to a mo-tion to replace the mayor as the citys repon the TNRD board the part where hesaid hed lost confidence in her to repre-sent us. The mayor said the motion wasinadmissible, and she gavelled Harry

out of order. But how so, Sue? Whatmade the motion inadmissible?

The Local Govt Act, under sect. 784Appointment and term of office of municipaldirectors [on a Regional District board],states: each municipal director is to beappointed at pleasure by the councilfrom among its members.

This doesnt mean that the mayor isautomatically the representative. It doesmean, though, that when she volunteeredto be the TNRD rep, the council had tohave agreed. And they did back then.

The LGA continues: The term of of-fice of a municipal director begins whenthe person takes office in accordancewith section 210 (3)[oath of office], andcontinues until another director takingoffice in the original directors place

Seems to me, that far from harassing,Councillor Kroeker was simply puttingforth an admissible motion, which fellwithin the framework of councils au-thority. Also seems that the mayors re-fusal to hear the motion amounts toobstruction of councils duty, and ironi-cally, a kind of harassment.

Please correct me if Im wrong. KL

    Hennng (Henr)Anker NorgaardMarch 9, 1929 September 13, 2013

Henning (Henry) Anker Norgaardof Merritt passed away on September13 at 84 years of age. He is survived

by his wife of 52 years Clara, his chil-dren Diana (Merritt) and Allen (Kam-loops); his granddaughters Elyse(Victoria) and Paige (Kamloops); his

brothers Soren and Iver (both ofCopenhagen); and many nieces andnephews in Canada and Denmark.Henry was predeceased by his parentsand two siblings Leif (brother) andDorte (sister).

Henry was born in Frederikshavn,Denmark, March 9, 1929. He immi-

grated to Canada in 1953 settling inMerritt where he worked at variousconstruction related jobs. He and hiswife started Norgaard Ready Mix in1960. Henry believed strongly that itwas not good enough to simply live ina community but rather it was his citi-zens responsibility to work to makethe community the best possible. Dur-ing his nearly 6 decades in the NicolaValley, he dedicated time, energy andresources to projects too numerous tomention here. He served on CityCouncil and many Boards in the com-munity and province, and was afounding member of the BC ReadyMix Concrete Association. One of hisgreatest pleasures was designing solu-tions to problems, so much so that hisoldest granddaughter nicknamed himGrandpa Einstein.

All who knew and loved him willmiss his quick dry humour, the twinklein his eye and his mischievous smile.

A celebration of Henrys life will beheld October 11, 2013 at the MerrittCivic Center at 3pm. The family re-quests in lieu of flowers donations bemade to your favourite local charity.

Message to the Red Nkon Camera ThefOn the weekend of September 6th, a thief or thieves decided that it was ok to come

onto our rural property and help themselves to whatever they could take out of ourhorse trailer. It was obvious that you were on foot and came down the bank to tres-pass on our property (didnt anyone ever teach you that trespassing is wrong?).

You explored inside the barn and the horse trailer and I suppose to your delight, you thought you hit gold when you found my Red Nikon camera in the horse trailerand took it. Although, a person should never get attached to material things, I was

attached to my Red Nikon camera (a Christmas present from my husband) that Iwas extremely pleased to receive. Oh by the way my husband and I both work reallyhard at our jobs, so we can pay all our bills and enjoy a few extras in this life. Do youwork? Do you enjoy extras that you have earned through honest hard-work, some-how I think not. If you are in need of help because you have no money to eat, payyour bills or provide for yourself or perhaps your family; there are many great agen-cies in Merritt that could help you out. If you just decided to steal because that iswhat you do, shame on you and just know that everything that goes around, comesaround (you know Karma) and stealing in this world is still unacceptable and justdown right wrong.

So, if anyone is offered a deal on a Red Nikon camera (which may come withmany great pictures, which I am still steaming mad about losing) please know thatthis is my camera and I would love to have it back. Oh and to the thief or thieves, you could return my camera and come clean, oh what a concept that would be hey!P.S. To the neighbourhood on Hwy.8, lets all keep our eyes and ears open for each other.

Sincerely, Red Ex-Nikon camera owner, Leah Mobbs
