meritor® fire and rescue capabilities
performance matters most in extreme working environments
No industry demands more of its equipment than the fire and rescue industry. And for more than 100 years, Meritor has been engineering components specifically designed to maximize the success of fire and rescue missions.
Demanding Requirements
We’ve long understood that fire and rescue requires components specifically designed for maximum performance. Meritor fire and rescue components are made to handle the speed requirements, stop-and-go, hard braking and road conditions unique to the application.
Meritor axles—fronts, single rears and tandem rears—are built on a rich heritage of product performance and engineering expertise. They are available in weight ratings that have been customized for fire and rescue as well.
Similarly, Meritor braking systems are available in a variety of sizes that are customized for optimum fire and rescue performance when paired with your axle package. And Meritor drivelines are designed to deliver reliability and durability all while minimizing maintenance for fire and rescue operations.
For proven anti-lock braking system performance in the demanding fire and rescue field, Meritor WABCO is a recognized pioneer in delivering advanced stability control solutions that have been proven to help drivers reduce vehicle accidents and help you reduce overall vehicle operating costs. The SmartTrac™ family of Stability Control Systems integrates our active safety systems technologies into a comprehensive suite of innovative products to meet your specific operational needs. The family encompasses anti-lock braking systems (ABS), automatic traction control (ATC), and stability control systems.
Meritor also has the know-how to ensure compatibility and reliability should you choose to specify a secondary braking device, such as an engine retarder.
