At-large Member• At-large member is a SHRM member who is not affiliated with a local chapter.
Local Member Only (LMO)• An LMO is a local member of a chapter who is not a SHRM member.
Primary Member• A SHRM member who designates one chapter as his/her primary chapter (this chapter receives
CFSP (Chapter Financial Support Payments ) for the member).
Multi-Member• Member of SHRM who maintains membership in more than one chapter. This person has a
primary chapter affiliation with another SHRM chapter. A chapter would receive credit for this member for membership purposes but not for financial support from SHRM (CFSP).
Membership Definitions
Expired Member• Former SHRM Member whose SHRM membership has lapsed.
Student Member• A SHRM member who is in school and taking 6+ credit hours and has joined SHRM as a student
member
CFSP (Chapter Financial Support Payments)• This is the money that is paid to the chapters for the primary SHRM members in their chapter
Coding• In order for a chapter to receive CFSP for a particular SHRM member, the SHRM member must
have designated that chapter as his/her primary chapter. Send the signed Primary Designation form to your Regional Administrator (RA) to have the person coded to your chapter.
