YOUR DUES – INCREASE FROM NATIONAL

Our membership is now at 560. THIS IS A REAL TIME NO-TICE – WE OPERATE UNDER A LIMITED CLUB OPERA-TION. BARTENDERS WILL SOON BE INSTRUCTED TO CHECK EVERYONES ID CARD IN ORDER TO BE SERVED. DON’T GET UPSET – BE PROUD TO DISPLAY YOUR MEM-BERSHIP. IN SOME STATES THIS RULE IS ENFORCED TO THE POINT THAT YOU HAVE TO HAVE YOUR CARD DIS-PLAYED IN FRONT OF YOU AT THE BAR AT ALL TIMES. Remember, if we lose the club operation liquor license, we can lock the doors and sell the post and all the work we have put into it will be for naught. I would like to add, that in about two weeks I will be changing the locks in the door, and without your 2016 card, no keycard will be issued. I recalled our members meetings used to be held in the big room because we needed the room – Lets get back to that and have more members attending. We are also on the lookout for LOCAL Charities that you feel may need our as-sistance. A note in my folder with a name, contact person, and small reason why they deserve our help and I will bring it up at the meetings because the Commander has designated me to chair the donations and contributions committee. Well ladies its almost spring, well feels like it anyways. I'd like to thank everyone involved for all the volunteering you all have done this year. Thank you, Thank you and again Thank you. Without you all we wouldn't be able to do the things we do. On Feb 13, 2016 we have a real country HO-DOWN coming up once again. I'll need volunteers for this. Tickets are at the bar and posters are up. JD and the ROLLIN South band will be the entertain-ment. Let's make this a great success. That's all I have right now. Our January bake sale is January 8th. See you all at the post. In GOD in trust, Bonnie Koehle Aux President

From the Chaplain: Dear members, You are in distress when a loved one becomes ill, injured or pass-es away, that is understandable, but please let the Chaplain know as soon as possible so our Legion can take appropriate action. I check the obituaries each morning, but if no mention of being Legion member, the family may think we don't care which is never the case. Please email or call Chaplain Heidenreich with information at [email protected] or 315-345-0702 / 315-458-3895. Thanks - Heidi

Greetings fellow Legion members. I can't believe that it is still possible to ride a little, this late in the season! The Riders had our annual Christmas Party with great food and great company. We raised about $500 with our in house auction and had a lot of laughs. As we are at years end, I want to thank everyone who helped us have a very successful year. We donated over $8000 to many worthwhile causes that help our Veterans and their families. I also want to thank Commander Mark Adams for all the support he has given the Riders. As we head into a new year and all that it will bring, we look forward to having our Sgt@Arms/Ride Captain MSgt. Bob Vergith back from his deployment. Keep our Troops that are serving in your hearts and prayers, and lets bring them home soon. From myself and my family, to all my Brothers and Sisters at James Harvey Spire Post 787, a very Happy New Year. Remember, freedom is not free. Support our Troops. Bruce

Our Legion has an inventory of Crutches, Walkers, Wheelchairs, etc. for loan to our Veterans

and their family members. We also have access to hospital beds. If you have a

need, contact one of the Executive Board Members or Charlie Jackson.

We don’t have many but will do our best to help.

We always have a need for Wheelchairs and other Handicap assist items. If you

have any that you think might help, and you would like to donate, please contact

Charlie Jackson or Mark Adams.
