by the bylaws, rules, and regulations of the Club, including all restrictions and penalties

MISSION AND VALUES

Lookout Point is a private golf club with revitalized energy and enthusiasm for creating new

traditions while preserving its rich history. Lookout Point provides an unbeatable golf experience

in an unsurpassed relaxed and friendly setting. Our mission is to be:

- friendly

- ethical

- respectful

- consistent

OUR HISTORY

Lookout Point was designed by Walter J. Travis in 1919 and completed in 1922. Lookout Point is

considered one of Travis’ finest and most challenging accomplishments.

In the 1930’s Ben Hogan, Walter Hagen, and Tony Penna were a few of the many famous golfers

to compete at Lookout. Other notable names like Marlene Stewart-Streit, Cathy Sherk, and Ann

Sharpe are included in Lookout’s colorful history.

Today, Lookout Point is consistently ranked among the Top 100 Courses in Canada by

Score Magazine.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS & CLUB OPERATIONS

The Club is governed by a twelve person Board of Directors that serve three-year terms on

a rotating basis. All Class B shareholders are eligible, and encouraged, to stand for election.

The Board is responsible for the governance and oversight of the Club and its operations.

The Board has delegated the operation of the Club to the General Manager. The General

Manager is supported by several operational committees, with Chairs that are appointed

by the General Manager and approved by the Club President. All members are eligible to

participate in these committees. More information can be found in the Members Only section

of the website, under the heading “Board Information.”

OUR COURSE

Our private 18-hole, championship course is considered a “golfer’s golf course.” Measuring

6777 yards from the back tees, the course is laid out on a spectacular piece of property that

includes mature tree-lined fairways that flow up, down, and below the Niagara Escarpment.

Strategically trapped, smaller greens test the accuracy of your approach shots. The challenge

continues during carefully considered putts. Dramatic elevation changes on the 1st, 8th, 10th,

13th, and 18th holes add a sense of exhilaration to every round played on our historic layout.

Members and visitors alike agree that Lookout Point provides a unique golf experience each

and every time they play here.

Our practice facility provides a venue to develop all the shots needed to navigate the

challenging layout that Walter J. Travis designed.

SEVERE WEATHER WARNING

Lookout Point monitors the weather with an online radar. If lightning is in the area, a horn will be blown by the Golf Shop and Shack House Team Members. All play shall cease in the event of lightning. It is each member’s and guest’s responsibility to be aware of lightning and seek shelter

Put safety first! As soon as you hear thunder:

Seek: lowest elevation, large buildings, fully enclosed vehicles.

Avoid: trees, open areas, elevated areas, metal objects (golf cart, fences, maintenance equipment, power lines).

MEMBERS MAKE A DIFFERENCE

As a member, you can play a significant role in improving course conditions. Playing conditions for everyone will improve when you take the time to rake traps, place rakes outside of the

bunker once you’re finished with them, replace your divots, fix your ball marks, and place trash in receptacles. Only soft spike shoes are allowed.

For safety purposes, we would like to remind all members not to hit into the vicinity of course maintenance workers unless they wave you on. Since the equipment they use is loud, they are most likely wearing ear protection, and cannot hear you if you yell at them. Before 8 a.m., please

yield to the maintenance staff when you meet them on a hole on the course.

ADOPT-A-HOLE PROGRAM

Golfers (and their guests) are assigned two holes to take extra care of. Holes are assigned

based on the last name first initial.

Responsibilities include:

- Replacing or filling any divots

- Raking bunkers

- Picking up any garbage

- Repairing ball marks

- Reporting to the shop any damage or areas that could use improvement

HANDICAPS

What they mean, and how they apply.

Maintaining an accurate handicap in accordance with the Golf Canada Rules is a

personal responsibility. An accurate handicap is earned by posting a score (applying

equitable stroke control according to your handicap) for all rounds of golf played.

A round of golf includes:

- All 18-holes completed

- Two consecutive 9-holes regardless of dates played

- 13 or more holes played

(To arrive at your posting score when you play at least 13, but less than 18 holes, add to

your cumulative score, adjusted according to your handicap, par for each remaining hole,

plus the strokes you are entitled to for each hole, according to your handicap.)

Equitable Stroke Control (E.S.C.) is the Golf Canada formula for adjusting your score for

posting and handicap purposes (see chart below). Please post all scores in accordance

with Golf Canada rules, including those that need to be adjusted. An “EGO handicap” hurts

the individual and partner during team play. A “sandbagger” is unfair to fellow club

members and competitors. An accurate handicap is representative of an individual’s golf

game. The Golf Handicap Committee, to ensure compliance with the Golf Canada Handicap

System Manual, will monitor posting of scores.

At your request, we will provide you with an updated handicap card each month. Please

see the Golf Shop for details. Handicap Policy available in the Appendix.

Equitable Stroke Control

The Handicap committee is part of the Games Committee and is there to ensure that all members report their scores, and to settle any disputes arising from handicap manipulation.

HANDICAPS cont.

If a player manipulates his or her scores to influence their Golf Canada Handicap Factor, the Handicap Committee shall adjust or withdraw their Handicap Factor, depending on the

severity of the offence. Examples of manipulating scores include:

- Failing to post a score.- Posting erroneous scores (i.e. higher or lower than actual).

- Stopping play after 6 holes to avoid posting scores.- Repeatedly playing more than one ball to avoid posting scores.

- Not adjusting scores for ESC.- Deliberately taking extra strokes to inflate a score.

Included with your membership are the fees associated with membership in Golf Canada and the Golf Association of Ontario. This provides the following benefits:

- Official Handicap factor with access online and at Lookout Point. Printable Card is available on Golf Canada website.

- Golf Canada & Golf Ontario Membership Card available through the Pro Shop.- Subscription to Golf Canada Magazine, Global Golf Post, and eGolf Canada.

- Mobile Score posting.- Discounts for various merchandise, Canadian Open tickets, and other services.

Honorary Club Members are normally named by the Board after having retired from the Club following a long term as an active Club Member, although the Board may name individuals to this category for other reasons it considers to be appropriate. Nominations may also be made in to the Membership Chair by any Class B shareholder. Such nominations shall be in writing setting out the basis for the nomination.

Examples could be service on Club Committees, the Board of Directors, etc. Nominations to this category may be made by any member in good standing and shall be in writing to the Membership Chair setting out in detail the basis for the nomination through a Nomination Application Form.

E. HANDICAP POLICY

Purpose

The purpose of the Handicap Policy is to ensure that all members maintain a handicap that is a valid representation of their best competitive abilities. Any member who plays any type of competitive golf will be expected to play fair and maintain a proper handicap.

Responsibilty

This policy applies to all Members who wish to play competitive golf. Any Member who plays any type of competitive golf will be expected to play fair and maintain a proper handicap.

This includes external events as a guest at another club as well as any Golf Canada, USGA sanctioned events

(Not all Lookout Members wish to play competitive golf and as such will not require a handicap.)

The following core principals apply:

i) You agree to comply with the LP Handicap Policy and the Golf Canada Handicap Manual.

ii) An accurate handicap represents a players “potential scoring ability”... not the average of all your scores.

iii) Whenever you sign up for a Tournament or club event or play for anything in your playing group, you are saying to all the fellow players in the field or in your group that “my handicap is complete, up to date, compliant with Lookout Point CC handicap rules, and is an accurate representation of my “potential scoring ability”.

iv) If you want to use the handicap purpose for any reason, then you agree to comply with the Lookout Point CC Handicap policy.

v) You will not be allowed to enter events without a properly maintained handicap.

vi) The Golf Shop will not enter members into an event without a proper handicap unless they agree to play at scratch.

vii) Members will post all acceptable scores.

Lookout Point Country Club Member Handbook 37

viii) Members will post 100% of all member event scores.

ix) All acceptable scores must be posted before you play your next round (not after you next play, or multiple scores posted on a later date all at the same time, etc.)

x) Members agree that there should be consequences for members who do not comply.

xi) You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your own scoring record.

xii) There are no reasonable excuses for not posting your score before you next play.

Procedure

i) Members will enter all valid scores within 72 hrs after playing.

ii) Members will stay current with the rules of golf and proper scoring methods.

iii) It is expected that you will post all rounds played including rounds played at other golf courses (at any time during the HDCP season associated with the geographic region the round was played ie. Florida during Nov – March).

To support the desire to maintain a proper handicap:

i) Members will receive a reminder from Golf Canada of any round played at our club that is not entered within 72 hrs (of playing a round). The Member is responsible for entering the missing scores, either on the Golf Canada App or The LPCC Website. The Professional Staff will not enter missing scores.

ii) Members will be contacted by the handicap committee if you fail to enter at least 80% of the rounds played. (Not including the 100% expectation of all member event rounds).

iii) Repeated reminders may result in:

a) A modification to your handicap used for competitive events, including Men’s & Ladies League play.

b) Suspension from competitive play.

iv) From time to time, the Handicap Committee may review & adjust handicaps for players who appear to play well below their handicap in competitive events.

Handicap scoring record modifications: Apart from enforcement, the Handicap Committee will be called upon from time to time to review players scoring records to ensure that Handicaps continue to accurately reflect the player’s “potential scoring ability”. These reviews will be done by considering Handicap Manual Probability Tables, player’s competitions results, and any other relevant information. The HC will make all required modifications to the Members scoring record. The member will be notified of the proposed modification and be given a reasonable opportunity to respond. The Committee will then decide whether or not to proceed with the modification or not.

Notification of Member and 3 Stage Enforcement Policy

In the case of non-compliance, the Member will be notified:

Stage 1) For the First event of non-compliance, the Member will be notified, and advised of the violation. The Member will be asked to immediately correct the non-compliance. There will be no penalty. During that time, the Member will be required to comply with all Handicap Rules and the Member will be actively monitored. Compliance will result in the Member being removed from the Watch List.

Stage 2) For a second event of non-compliance while on the Watch List, the Member will be notified, advised of the violation(s), and be invited to provide an explanation or response to the Committee at a special Meeting of the committee. The committee will then render a decision which may consist of no response, or continuation of the Watch List for an extended period of time, and/or the imposition of a penalty score, and/or to require the Member to produce verified scorecards of all rounds played for a period of time, and/ or to suspend the Player’s right to participate in club events for a period of time, and/or modification of the Member’s Handicap factor for a period of time.

Stage 3) For a third event of non-compliance while in a second violation period, the Committee will notify the Member of the continued infraction(s), invite the Member to attend a special meeting with the Committee at a mutually agreed upon date to provide information that may be pertinent to the Committee decision. The Committee will then decide to make no decision and have the member remain at the Strike Two phase, or to recommend the withdrawal of the Member’s handicap for a period of 1 year. During the period of withdrawal, the Member will be required to provide signed, dated, and attested scorecards to the Handicap committee until such time as the Committee decides to return the Handicap privileges to the Member.
