Makedonski Telekom

• Partnered with FEIT to train 15 students in basic SAP software skills.– The program addressed a shortage of specialized SAP

engineers on the local labor market; – Students became productive in 2-3 months vs. the usual

6 months required in a company setting; – 87% of former trainees have already been professional

engaged in local companies;– 20 more students are starting the program in 2013.

• Developed a specialized program for Internet Protocol technologies with 26 students

Pivara Skopje• Cooperation with UKIM Faculties and Economics and Mechanical

Engineering– All graduates eligible to apply for Management Training

Program– Selected students undergo an independent assessment

performed on a Corporate regional level – Students with the best assessment results are hired

• Management Training Program– Program lasts 2 years, imparting functional and management

capabilities and to be employed in the company– Mentors ensure trainees adapt to company culture, serve as a

personal and independent guide

EVN Macedonia

• Cooperates with UKIM’s FEIT and St. Kliment Ohridski University’s Faculty of Technical Science-Bitola– Research and development (joint studies)– Continuous improvement of formal teaching program– Scholarship/internship model

• Financial support throughout all 4 years of study• 1 month internships each summer• Company mentor assigned to each recipient• Required to apply for employment upon graduation

• Offers 1 month internships to many other universities and faculties, including assignment of a mentor

Alkaloid

• Supports an extensive scholarship program with the Cyril & Methodius’ Faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy

• Enables top performing students in need of financial aid to enroll in these faculties

• Feeds Alkaloid’s future candidate database

Makstil

• Cooperation with UKIM’s Faculties of Mechanical Engineering; Technology and Metallurgy and FEIT.– Regularly host summer interns– Offers intensive internships to 4th year students

including exposure to management and manufacturing processes

– 360 degree review of interns and the internship program

– Has hired from among highest performing interns

University American College Skopje

• Developing a company case study on FX3X in cooperation with European Foundation for Entrepreneurial Research, IESE Barcelona and Warsaw School of Economics.

• Developing two cases for Slovenian companies as part of an international academic network.

• UACS is hosting a Southeastern European case writing workshop this fall. Five Macedonian companies will be featured in the resulting publication.

• Regularly organizes small workshops on various topics and invites founders, CEOs, CFOs, managers at different levels to participate.

Johnson Controls Macedonia

• 2005-08 awarded 66 scholarships in all technical faculties– High schools proposed students– Company leadership held interviews and made selection– Internships were offered to all without any employment obligations

• Today– 3 diploma projects offered to people form Faculty of Mechanical

Engineering– 50+ internships for both scholars and students from technical

faculties, both in the country and abroad– 5 scholars employed full-time– Diploma thesis on Lean Production prepared on a real case in Skopje

plant nominated for LEAN TECH 2012 in Serbia by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

Cementarnica USJE

• Scholarship program for employees’ children– Started in 2003– Supports both undergraduate and graduate degrees

• Other scholarships– Have supported 25 students thus far – Alba Business School (Athens, Greece) and UKIM

• BEST Job Fair (FEIT) participation• Internships – 6 weeks via IAESTE student organization– 1 month for UKIM students

PWC Macedonia

• Faculties of Economy • Internships for 4th year students/recent graduates.• 6th month fixed-term employment agreements allowing

full-time engagement anywhere in the organization.• Engaged students in the development of standards for

online testing, part of the company’s employment application functionality. • Assurance Managers regularly present in classrooms on

audit methodology toward introducing students to real world practice.
