NURTURING POSSIBILITIES
5TH YEAR
Providing a warm and inviting rehabilitation center which promotes healing and boosts confidence, while feeling safe and secure.
Milo in the FieldsThe color pallet of the building is inspired by the Autumn colors of Milo in the Fields of Kansas. With its rustic Reds and Oranges, as well as Green and Browns, it makes for a very beautiful color pallet.
Narayan SymbologyThe Narayan symbology consists of approximately sixty symbols, each associated with one English word. Each symbol fits into a grid of four interlocked circles surrounded by a fifth larger one. Its very simplicity points at its inherent importance to Narayani society--those concepts which are most necessary to communication are usually those which are written in the shortest and simplest manner. The various symbols therefore used in the design of this rehabilitation represent deep rooted meaning for each therapy area.

The Nature Therapy Section of the Building is located in the center and outermost part of the Site. The Courtyard consists of a balance course which contains Sand, Rock, Uneven Stone and Asphalt with cracks. The Lake overlook allows for seating by the water but not in it. From the overlook, a patient can experience the calming sound of the water lapping up onto the shore, while still being protected from falling in the water.Balance Courtyard

LYKIN COMMUNITY CENTER2ND YEAR
Providing a Community Meeting Space for the neighborhood as well as a Chapel for worship and reflection.
The idea behind the design was to create a fluid building that allowed for easy accesiblity to all sections. To accomplish this, the plan allows for free movement throughout the building, while still being seperated into two distinct sides, Chapel and Community. Each section is defined in the roof plan of the building and in the heights of the ceiling, as well as in the materiality of the exterior.
UNIVERSITYMUSEUM2ND YEAR
Creating a Gallery and Study Space for the Students and the University
The basement level is used for storage and mechanical purposes.
The Registar and Curator’s offices are located on this level so that when new art arrives it can be
checked in and either displayed or stored in the correct place.
The ground level contains the Lobby and Reception area, which contains a coat check. The main offices contain the Director and two Curators as well as a Conference Room. The Freight elevator in the back connects all the levels as to allow for easy movement of the art pieces. The traveling exhibit space is also located on this level so that it can be easily monitored if it requires a fee.
The Main gallery is located on the Upper level. It is a lounge area, and can be used as a study space for students. The alcoves in the walls will fit all sizes of art pieces. The partitions can be moved and more can be added if there are special events or more wall space needed.
