President’s Message: First up, a huge thank you to everyone involved and all who attended the Changeover Luncheon on Thursday June 20th. The event was a huge success!
Going forward, we will continue to do what we do well ie Seniors Christmas Parties, Tree of Joy, Crows Nest Mar-kets, Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal, Sailability, supporting youth in our schools etc
Today, we discussed our draft Strategic Plan for the next 12 months and I look forward to receiving everyone’s feedback to bring the document to life.
Our first Board meeting for the new year will be held on Thursday July 11 commencing 2.15pm following our nor-mal luncheon.
We say a fond farewell to our International Exchange Student from Belgium, Art Crabbe. Art was lucky to have 2 host Clubs – North Sydney Rotary Club & Mosman Rotary Club.
Art’s presentation today shared with us his life in “Staylia” over the last 12 months. Attending Mosman High, Art says he has become a real Aussie, grown up a lot, learnt perseverance and has a new respect for fish hooks when going fishing ! One of Art’s most enjoyable holidays was camping on Lady Musgrave Island for 2 weeks with his host family.
Art leaves giving a special “Thank you” to Rotary and the Rotary Club of North Sydney Hosts David & Toni Field for their kind hospitality over the last 12 months.
We wish Art all the happiness & success which leads to a bright future.
District Changeover was Saturday July 6, we welcome Kalma McLellan as our new District Governor and offer our full support, and thank outgoing Susan Wakefield for all the support she has given us throughout her term.
I’m looking forward to the next 12 months as President. I’ll be working very hard to lift our profile in our local
community, while spreading the word on the good work the Rotary Club of North Sydney performs within our
community. I believe that the good actions of our current members will attract likeminded good people who will
want to join our Club.
“For Good Food, Good Fellowship and the Opportunity to serve through
Rotary, we give thanks”.

Humour by Geoff Pritchard Our engines have ceased functioning, and we will attempt an emergency landing. Luckily, I see an uncharted island below us and we should be able to land on the beach. However, the odds are that we may never be rescued and will have to live on the island for the rest of our lives!" Thanks to the skill of the flight crew, the plane lands safely on the island. An hour later Abe turns to his wife and asks, "Estelle, did we pay our charity pledge check to Beth Sha-lom Synagogue yet?" "No, sweetheart," she responds. Abe, still shaken from the crash landing, then asks, "Estelle, did we pay our United Jewish Appeal pledge?" "Oy, no! I'm sorry. I forgot to send the cheque," she says. "One last thing, Estelle. Did you remember to send a cheque for the Synagogue Building Fund this month?" he asks" "Oy, forgive me, Abie," begged Estelle."I didn't send that one, either." Abe grabs her and gives her the biggest kiss in 40 years. Estelle pulls away and asks him, "So, why did you kiss me?" Abe answers, "They'll find us."
