Kia ora tatou, hello everyone, Meet & Greet Family Night All families are invited to join the staff for a ‘Meet the Teacher’ and social evening tonight 5 - 7 pm. Parents, whānau & caregivers will receive a brief overview of what will be happening in their child’s classroom over the term and the children will have opportunity to have a refreshing splash in the pool. The evening will finish off with a picnic dinner, with parents, whānau & caregivers bringing their own food along to nibble on. The BBQ will be available for anyone wishing to cook something. With a new staff member and five new families, we look forward to a warm welcome being offered with 100% attendance. Making a Difference It has been wonderful to see so many students step up this year and take on responsibility that makes a difference around our school. Above: Sarah and Billy leading some fun tabloid events during lunch time Right: Summer colour being nurtured by Billy School Lunches There will be a meeting on Monday 20th February at 9:00 am in the staffroom for anyone interested in helping to organise and prepare school lunches. The efforts from our parents across 2016 can only be described as fantastic and we look forward to seeing the continued success of a wonderful fundraiser. We will also be looking for a parent to co-ordinate the team. After 4 committed and dedicated years, Karla now passes on this role due to having other obligations. We thank you Mrs Pennell!

School Donation Yesterday you will have received a school donation letter from the board. There was a slight error in the date to go into a draw for payment.

All families who have paid by March 31st are entered in a draw for a $50.00 grocery voucher & a $25 voucher from Nourish.

School Vision Along with the newsletter you will have received information about the school's vision that arose from consultation with you in 2016. Please return your feedback to the office by Friday 17th February.

Rippa Rugby Thank you to parents and caregivers that have supported their children to play rippa rugby across Term 1. The game promotes excellent ball handling and running skills as well as team skills. Best of all, it’s fun and exciting for all involved - including adults on the sideline! Virtues Assembly On Monday 20th February @ 2:30pm we will be holding our fortnightly values assembly. Mark the calendar and join us. Singing, certificates and sharing of work will also take place at this assembly.

Swimming Please ensure that you send your child / children along with their togs each day. The mornings may look like the day will not eventuate to much but we are finding that by 1:30 pm we are all feeling a little sticky and hot from the humidity. Togs and towel MUST be in a plastic bag or swim bag. We encourage students to wear a swim cap. Seeking Togs / Swimming Suits Our wardrobes are quite often kitted out with new togs or swimming suits for the upcoming summer. If you have children’s togs or swimming suits that have made their way down to the bottom of the draw and are no longer used; we would appreciate these being donated to the school so that we are able to have spare items available for the swimming season.
