MEDICAL AND VEDIC ASTROLOGY I
AN INTRODUCTION AND ALCHEMICAL APPROACH TO MEDICAL
ASTROLOGY
Discussion of the areas we will cover during this 8 weeks class (not
limited to)
I. How the chart is connected to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.
The most important aspects to look for and the
dualities/oppositions importance in working with significators.
II. The role of the planets and their significance, procedures for
studying health issues, how the body uses vitamins, minerals.
Nutritional requirements in Natal chart.
III. Importance of cell salts as described in planets/signs.
IV. Analysis of the Immune system as the chart indicates and
allergenic diseases such as: Infectious diseases, metabolic
diseases, allergenic diseases, addictive diseases.
V. Analysis of Addiction: Alcoholism and Drug Addiction
VI. Transits and Progressions as indicators of important points in the
health and mental welfare of the chart.
VII. Psychological factors and Midpoints of balance and healing.
VIII.Life/Death and working with critical points.
Maslow’s Hierarchy --- We will use this model as it is the simplest for analyzing the source of any problem as it occurs.
Let’s look at the planetary/sign/house
correlation from bottom to top:
Physiological --- Birth to 1st and 4th house
primarily, aspects to Sun/Moon/Pluto. (carry
over any trauma that occurs at this level into
the upper house above. (SAFETY)
Safety issues will have the aspects of
Sun/Moon/Pluto combined with Mercury and
Mars possibly with Saturn combination.
LOVE AND BELONGING---Have to do with Sun/Moon/Venus well
aspected.
SELF ESTEEM belongs to the ability to own one’s own inner
authority as seen by Sun/Saturn/Mars
SELF-ACTUALIZATION -- demands of the outer planets; Saturn,
Uranus, Neptune, Pluto in combinations well aspected to
Sun/Moon/Ascendant/Descendant.
((Of course other planetary combinations are important in all of
these categories)
Judith Hill in Medical Astrology: A Guide to Planetary
Pathology
Connects the western methodology to the Vedic principles. I
will bring these up but there are some ‘emphasis’ that the
Vedic’s make that are not considered in Western Method.
Chakra System (Vedic)
She brings up these Nine Key Points of Health Assessment
Based on the Planetary Health Chart.
1. The Twelve Signs and Their Designated Rulership of the
Body Parts.
2. Vitality and Metabolism: Sun, Saturn and Mars.
3. The Distribution of the Life Force: the Moon.
4. Temperature: Saturn and Mars: Too Cold/Too Hot
5. Excess and Deficiency: The Lunar Nodes
6. Assessment of Bodily Systems: Planets in the Signs and
Houses
7. The Four Elements (i.e. Four Qualities of the Vital Force) in
Excess or Deficiency.
8. The Three Modes: Rate of Flow of the Vital Force
9. Current Time Influences: Transits and Progressions
Remember Dualities: Reflexes are often seen in the
‘shadow/opposite’ sign….

Houses to focus on in health issues
Ascendant/6th/12th are most
important and we use the Koch
system of calculation rather than
Placidus for reasons of more
accuracy on the succedent houses.
VEDIC SYSTEM
