DR. PEARSE LYONS FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT

Dr. T. Pearse Lyons is the founder and president of Alltech, a top-10 animal health company that employs more than 3,500 people and conducts business in 128 countries. Founded in 1980 with $10,000 capital, the company has grown to annual sales of nearly $1 billion.

Dr. Lyons is widely recognized as an innovative industry leader. His scientific expertise, combined with an acute business sense, helped revolutionize the animal feed industry through the introduction of natural ingredients to feed. Now in its fourth decade of business, Alltech improves the health and performance of people, animals and plants through natural nutrition and scientific innovation.

Dr. Lyons received his bachelor’s degree from University College Dublin, Ireland and obtained his master’s and doctoral degrees at the University of Birmingham, England. He later worked as a biochemist for Irish Distillers before founding Alltech. Since then, he has authored more than 20 books and numerous research papers in scientific journals.

Dr. Lyons was acknowledged as leading one of the top 100 fastest-growing high-tech companies by World Trade Magazine. He has been recognized for his contribution to science and industry and has been awarded honorary doctorates from the University of Plymouth, England; Heriot-Watt University, Scotland; and the University of Kentucky,

Centre College, Eastern Kentucky University and the University of Pikeville, United States. University College Dublin awarded Lyons an honorary doctorate on the occasion of its 150th anniversary.

In 2012, Dr. Lyons was named Business Person of the Year by Business and Finance, was honored as one of Irish America’s Business 100 and received the prestigious Ireland-U.S. Council Award for Outstanding Achievement. In 2013, he was once again named to Irish America’s Business 100 and was selected to receive the Commander’s Award for Public Service, a rarely presented official U.S. Army medal.

Dr. Lyons has spearheaded Alltech’s commitment to international equestrian sport, beginning with the Alltech

FEI World Equestrian GamesTM

2010 in Lexington, Kentucky, which were attended by more than half a million spectators from all 50 U.S. states and 63 countries and joined by another 500 million television viewers. Dr. Lyons’ leadership in the historic event led to his receipt of the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s first-ever Legacy Award in 2011.

Alltech is proud to continue its partnership with these elite world championships. The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games

TM 2014 in Normandy, France, will take place from August 23 to September 7, 2014.

Fundamentals

New product development at Alltech is the result of synergy between the company’s primacy in science and its understanding of customers’ needs and expectations. The Alltech brand rests on two fundamentals: excellence in innovation and quality assurance.

At Alltech, we foster innovation by nurturing talent at all stages. Our commitment begins with inspiring scientific and agricultural studies at the primary school level through the construction of science laboratories in schools. At the collegiate level, the annual Alltech Young Scientist Award competition receives more than 8,000 entries worldwide for its research rewards. To date, more than 150 undergraduate students have completed an internship program at Alltech’s Nutrigenomics Center in Kentucky, and more than 260 PhD, master’s and graduate students have been supported through Alltech’s bioscience centers.

In terms of quality assurance, the Alltech Quality System (AQS) is recognized throughout the feed industry as a standard to follow. The AQS delivers the exact same level of quality assurance and traceability in each of Alltech’s geographical markets, based on a uniform process designed to meet and exceed other third-party systems of certification.

Expansion and Investments

As a family owned and operated company, one of Alltech’s cornerstones of success has always been its ability to reinvest all profits directly back into its business. Investments and expansions planned for 2014 include: - A new processing facility in California, U.S.- A new production facility in Mexico- An energy project and expansion in Brazil- An upgrade and installation of new equipment in Belgium and Canada- The implementation of new equipment and improved processing in Thailand and India

- A major upgrade of the pilot plant facilities in Nicholasville, Ky., U.S.- The expansion of aquaculture production and research in Kentucky, U.S.

Involvement

Alltech believes in giving back to the communities in which we work. With this in mind, we established Alltech’s ACE Involvement Foundation, a charitable foundation to help fund the philanthropic efforts of the company, our employees and partners around the world. One component of this commitment is the Alltech Sustainable Haiti Project. Today the project includes financial responsibility for two primary schools in northern Haiti and the resurrection of a Haitian gem - the country’s 100 percent mountain-grown, organic Arabica coffee. Alltech provides a sales and marketing channel for these coffee beans through its Fair Trade Certified™ Alltech Café Citadelle, and profits from the coffee’s sale are reinvested in the two Haitian primary schools the company supports.

Equestrian Sports Sponsorship

Alltech’s commitment to national and international equestrian sports began with its title sponsorship of the 2010 Alltech® FEI World Equestrian Games™ in Kentucky. More than half a million spectators from all 50 US states and 63 countries attended the event, and another 500 million television viewers around the world joined in the excitement.

Equine championships are a natural fit with Alltech’s passion for peak animal performance. Alltech is proud to continue its sponsorship of equestrian competition, including the Alltech® FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy, France.

Natural Solutions for an Evolving Market

Alltech’s core business is animal nutrition and aquaculture, which generates 95 percent of sales. We work with the largest feed manufacturers in the world and provide them with nutritional technologies that not only improve the bottom line, but are natural and friendly to the Animal, the Consumer and the Environment.

Our passionate commitment to scientific innovation, particularly in the areas of algae, nutrigenomics and yeast fermentation technology, has led to the company’s expansion into five divisions: Alltech On-Farm; Alltech Algae; Alltech Crop Science; Alltech Life Sciences; and the Alltech Beverage Division, which includes a line of award-winning beers and spirits such as Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale® and Town Branch® Bourbon.
