Before creating my magazine I had to pick a audience for the magazine, people who will purchase the magazine. The target audience I have chosen is 16-25 year olds who are grouped as indie scenesters. The magazine layout I have chosen is a simple and relaxed look. This will attract my audience as they like simplistic looks and also the magazine is predominantly black and white and black and white is also associated with the word ‘Indie’. Also my audience will be attracted to the magazine because there isn’t a magazine fully dedicated to indie / alternative artist of all kind. Theirs magazines such as NME but they only focus on bands and then theirs Q but they do a lot on the older indie rock / alternative scene such as the smiths and oasis. I incorporated their magazines into one to make a magazine full of everything to do with indie rock/alternative music. The market for this genre is niche and this magazine will be what a lot of my target audience has been looking for. Also using a variety of bands such as The Wombats, The Courteeners, Peace and The smiths. This will attract my audience, as these are all bands, which people would like. If pictures of these bands are on the front of my magazine people from my target audience will see them on my magazine and will want to buy and read it. I will be using fashion which is used by the bands I have mentioned and many others in my magazine as that’s what my target audience of indie scenesters because that’s the fashion they like and how they get their ideas for their clothing choice. The way the magazine will be wrote will be influenced by the target market it will be more relaxed formal style to suit the 16-25 year

quotes in my Double page spread and front cover this is so my
target audience they get drawn in by the quote and want to read
what it is all about. The price of my magazine is 2:99 I feel as
this is suitable as my target audience is young and they may not
have a lot of disposable income to use on a magazine so making it
this price will mean they will be able to afford it. Overall I feel
like I have attracted my audience well to the magazine and when
doing my research I have looked into everything I needed to in
depth to make sure that my target audience will like it and be
attracted to it.
