Page 1: Media double page spread

This double page spread is an interview with Lilly Allen. The mise-en-scene of the cover is rock we can see this through the colour black and the font used. The mast head is a quote from the rest of the interview; this is done to show the reader what’s to come in the interview. The colours used show that this is trying to portray an indie rock theme. The white background makes the header stand out more. I believe this is for the younger generation.

This magazine double page spread has a simple design with one page dedicated to the image and another to the article. The image used tries to portray sexual attraction as she is mostly naked; I believe this is done to attract the male audience. This would have attracted the eyes of all genders though. I like the red L across the article as its eye catching.

I like the black and white colours used. I also like how they’ve used colour to make the mast head stand out. They’ve used one page dedicated to the image and one for the article; this is common on double page spreads. I like how simple this contents page is.

It has a very simple layout. The image is on the left-hand side of the page, with the text on the right. They’ve given one side for the image and the other for the text. They made the heading ‘youve got the love’ black to make it stand out , this is a good title as its the lyrics to the lady in the images song. It links it all together. It also has USA in very large writing to fill up the extra space in the background. It is in a pale, light font. The paleness of the font prevents it from standing out too much. This isn't needed because it already stands out due to the size of the text. The text is also in capital letters which makes it stand out even more. This heading implies that the text has something to do about the USA.

This double page spread is different to the usual double page spread. Most double page spreads give one image for the text and one for the image where as this does not follow the rule. I like the plain look this double page spread gives. However there is not a lot of text which i dislike. The colours used i believe the main audience is female.

This images on this double page spread show clearly the music and genre of this magazine. The colour black , white and red show that its a rock magazine as these colours are normally represented with a music magazine. The mast head is stretched along both pages which shows its of importance. This magazine is targeted for males..

Here the layout is quite simple, the title of the article is at the top of the left page, as well as the bands name. There is a photo of the band across the 2 pages but mostly on the left page and the interview overlays the photo on the right page. There is a quote enlarged, cutting across the interview with a white 'box' around it to make it stand out. The dark colours show that its for a rock magazine. This would attract males more then boys i believe. The colours being so dark i believe it would narrow down the audience.

The layout of the magazine is very organised. The image takes up the whole background of the double page spread. I like how the ‘yellow sun’ highlights the mast head to make it stand out. I like how the image and colour give the double page spread a Hollywood affect. I believe this would attract the female audience.

This double page spread has followed the trend of having the text on one page and the image on the other. I like the neutral colours used and how the only dark colours are around the model which makes him stand out. This would be for the male audience as blue colours are used. I like how ‘white sound’ has been made bigger and bold to make it stand out.

I like how the band are displayed across the two pages it shows that they are important. They stand out more then the text which shows they are of importance. Its eye catching. I like the modern look of this double page spread as the mast head is at the bottom it gives it a unique look. The colours are for both genders and i believe this double page spread would be for any age.
