The K6 is a 6 pin open profile conventional system. Offering protection

DOM Contract Lockcase

The DOM Contract lockcases have been designed in line with building

industry requirements and are available at an affordable price. DOM

offer a large product selection from sashlocks to night latches. These

robust and quality products also comply with the requirements for

DIN 12209.

The DOM contract lockcase range contains a high frequency use latch

mechanism which is tested to over 1 million+ cycles. It has a maintenance

free follower with sintered bronze bearing for intensive use and protection

steel tubes through the fixing holes.

All the lockcases are modular allowing simplified door preparation

and lock interchange ability to suit changes in use. They also offer a

round or square ended forend as well as a quick reversible latch for

left and right hand applications allowing quick and trouble free on-site

handling without the need to dismantle the lockcase.

Installation advice

Cylinder length - What must I take into consideration?The cylinder length is not only dependent on the thickness of the door but we must also take into consideration the thickness of the external security fittings. As a rule the cylinder should not protrude more than 3mm in accordance with DIN 18252.

The cylinder length is calculated from the Nickel-plated fixing screw, firstly to the outside (A) and secondly the inside (B).

Central locking systemsIn a Z central system individuals must be able to unlock one or more main access doors such as the main entrance or cellar without direct access to neighbouring apartments. Individual letter or meter boxes can also be assigned to individual flat entrance doors.

Principle areas of application include apartment blocks and halls of residence.

Master key systemsIn a master key system the function of the master key is such that it must operate every cylinder within the system. Furthermore each individual cylinder is also assigned its own unique key. A master key system enables the holder of the master key open access to the entire system with the added option of incorporating all available central (common) doors. For added convenience master key systems can also incorporate office furniture and other industrial applications.

Principle areas of application include schools and small to medium sized buildings.

Central master key systemA central master key system is made up of a series of central locking systems combined into one. For housing developments such as sheltered housing or even large freehold complexes the warden often requires different keys for access to a number of main entrances, laundry or boiler rooms and therefore the central master key system is the ideal choice.

Principle areas of application include school and medium to large sized buildings.

Grand master key systemsA grand master key system comprises at least two subsidiary master key systems. The grand master key allows one holder access to all rooms in the building; the group keys are distributed to more than one holder for access to certain areas or departments and the individual cylinder or differ keys are supplied for use only with their own corresponding doors. Subgroup keys, group keys, main group keys and grand master keys are differentiated in an ascending hierarchy. DOM has successfully set up over 50,000 individual locking systems of this type and offers options such as the addition of central locking functions.

Principle areas of application include large, multidepartmental properties and building complexes.

Tip:Make sure you receive your registration / ID card as replacement key orders can only be processed on supply of this card.

Glossary2 in 1This cylinder is issued with 2 sets of keys and security cards. On loss or theft of the first set, the second can be inserted to act as an immediate override of the original keys.

Anti-ligatureSpecially designed to meet hospital security and safety requirements, the anti-ligature thumbturn has an integrated clutch function and a smooth rounded design, elimating potential ligature points.

Bar tumblersLocking bars are axially arranged in the cylinder core and activated by specially designed pin tumblers to enable core rotation only on insertion of the correct key.

Classroom cylinderSpecially designed for the Education sector, the classroom cylinder cannot be locked from the inside; however the thumbturn can be used to unlock the door in cases of emergency. A clutch function is also integrated.

Clutch cylinderThe integrated clutch function allows key override in event of emergency whilst retaining all of the performance features of a standard thumbturn cylinder.

Control PinA control pin consists of a core pin, housing pin and wafers. The core is only able to rotate on insertion of the correct key. The core and housing pins move out of place to allow the key to be inserted in the correct position.
