Student Outcomes for the PhD At the time of graduation a Doctor of

chosen area of research.

Criteria At the time of graduation the number of

publications accepted, under review in journals and conferences should satisfy: accepted >=1, accepted + under review >=3. The percentage of students satisfying this should be greater than 80%.

. In the Exit interview, which is conducted after the dissertation is submitted, the percentage of students that rate their ability to actively contribute research as excellent or very good should be greater than 80%.

The department will also measure the time for a full-time student to progress to the milestones: qualifying exam, comprehensive exam and defense of dissertation.

Methods: After the defense

The Graduate Secretary will compile a list of publications and verify this list with the graduate.

The Graduate Secretary will enter the data into a spreadsheet and provide it to the Graduate Director and the other members of the Graduate committee.

discuss the level of achievement of the the graduates and any necessary actions.

After the dissertation has been submitted to the Graduate School

The Graduate Director will perform the exit interview of the graduates to indirectly assess the achievement of this outcome.

The Graduate Committee will discuss the level of achievement of the graduates and any necessary actions.
