RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS The Easter season calls us to celebrate our new life in Christ. We are grateful for the love and mercy shown to us in the gift of Jesus and we look forward to our resurrection and life with God in eternity. If eternal life is important to you, why not share your knowledge and experience of the Catholic Church with someone who is also seeking eternal life? Invite them to look into the RCIA process here at St. Cecilia.

And, in case you are not aware, the RCIA process receives interested persons at any time during the year. So, if you are an adult, or know of an adult or child over the age of 7 years interested in knowing more about the church or in becoming a Catholic and celebrating the sacraments of Baptism or Confirmation and First Communion, please contact us at [email protected]

Thanks to the people who faithfully bring containers for Food at First. We continue to use them to send left over food home with our guests. Please remember that all containers must go through the commercial dishwasher so they must be able to withstand the high temperatures that sterilize the dishes. St. Cecilia’s Tuesday chefs

Thanks to all those who helped with the Parish Thank You Dinner.

Thanks to all who donated items for Haiti. Those items not taken on the Holy Family Cluster medical mission trip were delivered to Nashville by Deacon Jerry Temeyer & Cinera Dorzeus for shipment on the sea crate.

New Adorers Needed Currently we need adorers for the following times: Wednesday – 7PM Thursdays – 6AM – 7AM Fridays – 3AM – 4AM and 5AM – 6AM Please contact the parish office at 233-3092 or email at [email protected] to schedule your hour. What is Eucharistic Adoration? Parishioners and visitors coming to worship Jesus in the Chapel, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Only your desire is necessary for you to have a personal audience with Him. The greatest act of Christian worship is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Jesus does not leave His Church when Mass is completed. He continues to remain in the Tabernacle. The Burke Chapel is open 24 hours a day and all are welcome in the Chapel for personal prayer and celebrations of scheduled daily Masses. Saint Cecilia Parish offers Eucharistic Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament exposed in the monstrance. In this way, people coming to the Chapel during these times are “face-to-face” with Jesus. Saint Cecilia Parish has honored the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament by adoration since December 9, 1996.

The Ames Catholic Community Stephen Ministry commissioned 17 new Stephen Ministers and 4 Stephen Leaders last weekend. These new Ministers have completed 50 hours of training and the Leaders attended a week long training experience. They are a committed group of people who will be serving in our parishes and community as caregivers to those in difficult situations and circumstances who need someone to "walk the walk" with them and to be there to "listen". Please be aware aware of those in our midst who might benefit from this caring and listening ministry which is available to all and contact Anne Schmitt (515-291-8257) or Deacon Alan (515-231-8099) for referrals. Also you may find more information on the website stceciliaparish.org
