In attendance were our new members, the Smiths, along with Ericksons, Feslers, Gross’, Jacksons, Malseeds, Reids, and Kathy Wright and Bobbie Oleson. Creede is at 8852 feet, so the altitude takes some getting used to. The sun is so intense up there; our dog got sunburned on her nose! The meals were well planned. The first night was heavy hors d’oeuvres and another night was “bring your own dish”. For the rest of the Rally, breakfasts and dinners were provided. The Reids and us arrived early and spent some quality time together. Christine and Steve Reid had just gotten a new 38 foot bath-and-a-half Class A pusher diesel. It is beautiful. Several of us also went into town on Friday night to see the opening of the play “The Wizard of OZ” at the Creede Repertoire Theater. Even though it is off Broadway, their productions are always fantastic. Several Chaparrals also went into town to watch the burro races, which is always a lot of fun. The final evening was especially enjoyable; most of the Chaparrals gathered at the Reids for some great conversation, food and games. Unfortunately, there were also some significant negative incidences at this Rally that I don’t want to get into at this time. For those who are curious, I recommend that you take someone aside who was present at the Rally and talk to them. After the Creede Rally, a post Rally was held in Bayfield, CO. The Browns and Malseeds attended this rally with the Smokey Bears. The next rally is the 98 th FMCA International Rally held in Gillette, Wyoming from July 18-21. This is the big one, folks. There will be thousands of coaches at this rally. Gillette, believe it or not, is a huge coal producing region, and you can get tours of both the coal mines and the region’s coal power plant. If you want to learn anything about your RV, the seminars and workshops are fantastic, as are the number of vendors. Allene and I have been here before and we highly recommend this Rally! As always, let’s take time out to pray for our club members that are ill, having operations, or are otherwise unable to take to the road. Sincerely, Robert Gross, President, Chaparral Chapter FMCA

Good Advise from the VP…CHAMA RALLY, September 1st - 5th If you think that you want to go to the September rally at Sky Mountain in Chama, I would like to suggest you make your reservations NOW. Sky Mountain is not a large resort, the rally is scheduled for Labor Day weekend and I can guarantee that they will be fully booked well before September 1st. Call Bill at 575-756-1100, and get your space reserved now. He does not require a deposit, all he asks is that if you decide not to use the space that you let him

know as soon as you do decide that you won't need it. Please call me, Paula, at 505-869-0076 and let me know that you have made a reservation and if it is only tentative. I will pass the word along to the rally master, Jamie Erickson,

at 505-325-5978. Paula Kav

Honesty

Yup, some people can’t handle the truth!

My Favorite Animal

Our teacher asked what my favorite animal was, and I said, "Fried chicken."

She said I wasn't funny, but she couldn't have been right, because everyone else laughed.

My parents told me to always tell the truth. I did. Fried chicken is my favorite animal.

I told my dad what happened and he said my teacher was probably a member of PETA. He said they love animals very much.

I do, too. Especially chicken, pork and beef.

Anyway, my teacher sent me to the principal's office.

I told him what happened, and he laughed, too. Then he told me not to do

it again.

The next day in class my teacher asked me what my favorite live animal was.

I told her it was chicken. She asked me why, so I told her it was because you could make them into fried chicken.

She sent me back to the principal's office.

He laughed, and told me not to do it again.

I don't understand. My parents taught me to be honest, but my teacher doesn’t like it when I am.

Today, my teacher asked me to tell her what famous military person I admired most. I told her, "Colonel Sanders."

Guess where the - I am now…

For those of us who don’t give a dam about PC

1. I was devastated to find out my wife was having

an affair, but, by turning to religion, I was soon able to come to terms with the whole thing. I converted to Islam, and we're stoning her in the morning.

2. My wife suggested I get myself one of those penis enlargers, so I did. She's 25 and her name is Heather.

3. Went to our local bar with my wife last night.

Locals started shouting "paedophile!" and other names at me, just because my wife is 24 and I'm 50. It completely spoiled our 10th anniversary.

5. The cost of living has now gotten so bad that my

wife is having sex with me because she can't afford batteries.

6. I was explaining to my wife last night that when

you die you get reincarnated, but must come back as a different creature. She said she would like to come back as a cow. I said, "You obviously haven't been listening."

7. The Red Cross just knocked on my door and asked

if we could contribute towards the floods in Pakistan. I said, "We'd love to, but our garden hose only reaches the driveway."

Two elderly ladies had been friends for many decades. Over the years they had shared all kinds of activities and adventures. Lately, their activities had been limited to meeting a few times a week to play cards. One day they were playing cards when one looked at the other and said, "Now don't get mad at me....I know we've been friends for a long time.....but I just can't think of your name! I've thought and thought, but I can't remember it. Please tell me what your name is." Her friend glared at her. For at least three minutes she just stared and glared at her. Finally she said, "How soon do you need to know?"

Ted, please put a reminder in the newsletter about

the August Rally in Ruidoso. Reservations must be

made by July 1. They can still cancel 3 days

before the Rally. Thank You, Jan & Bud
