VOLTS120 voLt service is the most popular choice for track lighting systems and gives you the greatest selection of track fixtures.277 voLt service is useful for ballasted fixtures on very long runs of track; as in `big box´ stores and supermarkets.12 voLt service is required to power small, low voltage track fixtures; for corporate conference rooms and residences.

AMPS & CIRCUITS20 AmP service is the most frequent choice for track lighting systems for two reasons:•20-amptracksmaybecut to length in the field, allowing us to make

SightLine and HighLine systems consisting of track, feed and joint components for assembly by the installer

• two 20-amp circuits (sharing a neutral) can be provided in each length of track; with two separately-controlled circuits, you can power twice as many fixtures per foot of track and compose multiple lighting programs for the same space

50 AmP service is recommended for:•spaceswithextensive track layouts, like galleries or museums, because 50-

amp systems require fewer electrical feeds and result in lower installation costs

•spaceswhererunsoftrack longer than 20’ must be powered from a single electrical feed

•spaceswhere small transformer-less low-voltage fixtures are desired. Autotrak-Lv systems make it possible to power these fixtures in useful numbers per circuit; a 50-amp 12-volt circuit, powered by a remote transformer (by others), can accept twelve 50-watt low voltage fixtures (a 20-amp 12-volt circuit would accept only four fixtures).

Autotrak-50 track systems are factory-cut to the lengths you require. We offer mitered corners, seamless integral feeds, ‘hardwired’ emergency fixtures, and other features not available with standard field-cut track systems – including a detailed layout for your approval.

60 AmP AutoBus busway systems are intended for spaces where the track system will electrify not just lighting fixtures but appliances or exhibits by means of drop cords; examples include museums, supermarkets, `big box´ stores and convention centers. Note that busways may require extra heavy gauge service wires and larger than normal outlet boxes, and include #8 wire leads that limit the available feed details. AutoBus-120 and AutoBus-277 are factory-cut to lengths required.

One of the primary features of track lighting is the ability to move fixtures from point to point – but that flexibility is limited by voltage and amperage. A track fixture is made so that it can plug into track that will power it safely and not plug into track that could cause it to malfunction.

Our track systems are grouped into four families, each of which can share track fixtures:

•SightLine, upLine and Autotrak (120 volt, 20 amp)

•Autotrak-50 and AutoBus-120 (120 volt, 50 and 60 amp)

•HighLine and AutoBus-277 (277 volt)

•Autotrak-Lv (12 volt)

Incandescent reflector lamps, especially quartz halogen PAR30’s and PAR38’s, are less than perfect light sources. Just aim one on a blank wall. You may see squiggly shadows in the center of the beam caused by the lamp’s filament, or ‘sprinkles’ of shadow around the perimeter of the beam caused by the thick edge of the lamp’s lens. Beam smoothers clean up these imperfections. Clear disks of glass finished with stipples (tiny beads of glass that diffuse light), beam smoothers make imperfect reflector lamps suitable for the most careful display lighting.

Sometimes the distributions offered by an incandescent lamp or LED luminaire just won’t do the job. You may want to widen a ‘stock’ distri-bution or to stretch a beam in both directions. Spread lenses perform these tasks. Three lenses - 30°, 55° and 70° - extend a lamp’s beam along one axis, allowing you to highlight wider areas from a single fixture, and our unique 40° x 70° lenses spread the beam in both directions for wallwashing.

In addition to refracting light at reliable angles, our spread lenses are stippled, just like our beam smoothers, to diffuse away imperfections. And, if two tasks aren’t enough for one piece of glass, our most popular spread lenses are offered in the two colors most popular for architectural lighting - Daylight Blue and Surprise Pink.

Color filters require careful design. Deeply saturated colors, like our amber, blue, green and red, absorb a lot of heat. Specially tempered, stipled glass permits these colors to be used with incandescent lamps as hot as 250 watts. Two special, subtle colors deserve mention: Daylight Blue cools down incandescent lamps to a color compatible with daylight, and Surprise Pink makes people look radiantly healthy - a great addition to restaurants, clubs and hotels.

You may find an incandescent lamp or LED luminaire with the right color and distribution but too much light. Screens reduce the light output of a reflector lamp by half or two-thirds without affecting color or distribution.

All incandescent lamps emit enough ultraviolet (UV) radiation to fade textiles, manuscripts, watercolors and other sensitive works of art over time. Retail spaces, museums and residences require protection from UV without sacrificing the color or quantity of light. Our uv filters are Pyrex disks coated with a film that blocks 99% of the UV region of the spectrum while maintaining a color rendering index of 95%.
