At the last School Board meeting, the Board decided not to increase tuition fees in 2019 and to increase amenities by a very small amount. Dear Parents, Friends and Students

Congratulations to the students from Pre-primary for their

outstanding assembly last Friday. It was so great to see

the students perform so confidently and with so much

all their work in preparing the students for their assembly.

It is a huge task getting them ready for this and they did it

MUSIC NEWS

Once again 2018 has proved to be a very busy year. It has been a very successful year for MGCPS in the performing arts festival with

5 out of 5 awards. We were successful in the following performances. The Outstanding award along with the overall shield for

Christian Drama. The Outstanding award for Choral Speaking - Year 5.

The Excellence award for the musical ‘Cock A Doodle Dandy’ - Year 3 and 4.

Angus and Eli receiving a meritorious award for their piano performance. Angus and Eli also were successful in passing their AMEB piano exams. An excellent result and well done to all. A sincere thank you to the teachers for your help and cooperation.

We performed ‘Cock A Doodle Dandy’ at Midland Nursing Home last week and it was a pleasure to see the resident’s happy faces. We will once again perform this in the foyer of St John of God on the 5th December at 10.30am. All welcome.

I look forward to 2019 with some more ideas and I wish you all a very happy Christmas and an enjoyable time with your children and family.

If anyone has white or ivory wedding gowns or dresses and no longer want them I am very happy to take them off your hands.

YEAR 5 NEWS

Next Monday we are off the St Mary’s Cathedral in the

city to see where Matthew Gibney is buried and to attend

Mass. We will be spending the day reflecting on how we

will become leaders in our school in 2019, and what we

can learn from Matthew Gibney.

Last Friday, Maddy, Zavier, Olivia and Eli represented

Year Five at the inaugural “Primary Leadership Youth

Summit” at Chisholm College, along with 140 other

students, from across Perth. They were certainly a credit

to our school. As part of our leadership day on Monday

they will be sharing some of the things that they learnt

and took away from the day with the rest of the class.

Karen Keddie & Jess Bettridge

YEAR 3 NEWS

In Year Three students have been very busy with all their

end of year testing and have produced some amazing

results. Well done on all your hard work throughout the

year!

This week we started our Christmas craft and students

have made some very interesting and colourful designs.
