THE WORLD IS WATCHING: The Dodgers tonight continue
their seven-game road trip (1-1) with the rubber match of a three-
game series against the National League champion New York
Mets, which will be televised nationally on ESPN. Last night, the
Dodgers clubbed five homers in a 9-1 victory, positioning
themselves to take the season series with a win tonight. Following
tonight’s game, the Dodgers fly to Chicago and will play four
games against the first-place Cubs Monday through Thursday.
The Dodgers’ five home runs last night was the club’s
most in a game since belting five on Sept. 4, 2015 at San
Diego. Los Angeles did not homer five times in a game
once in the 2014 campaign.
The Dodgers are 13-12 on the road this season, after
finishing with a 37-44 mark away from home in 2015. Los
Angeles is 13-11 all-time at Citi Field and 10-5 since
2012:

MEN IN THE PEN: The Dodger bullpen gave up one run in 4.0
innings last night and has now yielded just six runs in its last 32.1
innings of work (1.67 ERA). The Dodgers’ 3.54 bullpen ERA ranks
fourth in the National League while its .203 opponents average
ranks second, trailing only the Cubs (.200).
The newest Dodger, reliever Casey Fien, struck out the
side in the ninth inning last night. Fien, who will wear No.
50, had his contract purchased yesterday and spent the
previous four seasons in Minnesota, making 73
appearances in both 2013 and 2014. Fien was originally a
20th
-round selection of the Tigers in 2006 out of Cal Poly
San Luis Obispo. To make room on the 40-man roster for
Fien, the Dodgers designated James Ramsey for
assignment.

Jeff Kent in 2005 to drive in at least four runs in consecutive
games. It was Utley’s first multi-homer game since April 14 of last
season and he now has a .386 on-base percentage that leads the
Dodgers and ranks 14th in the National League.
According to ESPN Stats and Information, Utley has

the Mets and even better at Citi Field, going 3-0 with a
1.01 ERA (3 ER/26.2 IP) in the regular season. Including
his Game 4 NLDS gem against the Mets last year, he has
allowed just one run in his last 16.0 innings at Citi Field.
