Essay: Who are you and who do you want to become. Jeff Brenzel, Dean of Undergraduate Admissions, Yale. Your opportunity tell the admissions officer about who you really are.
Getting started: Is there something else about me that there wasn’t a blank for? Brainstorm Personality Traits or Strengths Let the Draft Flow Develop 3 parts to the essay
Introduction: 1 paragraph Body: several paragraphs explaining main idea Conclusion: 1 paragraph Find a creative angle Be Honest Don’t write what you think Admission Officers want to hear.
Show the essay to parent, friend, teacher. Does this represent who I am? Make sure the letter is your voice and not that of another…..(Mom?) Proof and have someone edit your essay for mechanics of a great essay.

taking on challenges in their classes.
Make request of teacher personally before the end of this school year.
Teachers will need students to have a survey and resume completed and submitted on Naviance before they are able to complete the reference letter.
