MARIANGOŁOGÓRSKI
Marian Gołogórski
Born on January 16th, 1948 in Zakopane. Studied at
the Faculty of Sculpture of Krakow’s Academy of Fine
Arts under the supervision of Jacek Puget and Marian
Konieczny. Graduated in 1972. Sculptor, designer, jewel-
ler and glass artist. Co-founder of Gołogórski – Rost-
worowski Gallery of Contemporary Art (1982–1992).
Owner of Gologorski Gallery in Krakow, Poland.

Gologorski Gallery is one of the oldest private galleries
in Poland. The first number is to celebrate 30 years of Gologor-
ski Gallery’s existence. Lots of things changed during these
thirty years – the gallery moved from one place to another, hun-
dreds of Artists exhibited there and even the political systems
changed, but the gallery was always open to Artists and Clients.
The second number celebrates 40 years of Marian Gołogórski’s
artistic career. Marian Gołogórski is widely known as a sculptor,
but also internationally renowned for his glass designs. During
the 80’s, Marian Gołogórski was also very actively present on Pol-
ish fashion market, and was considered to be quite an extrava-
gant fashion designer. At the same time, he was working on his
eccentric jewellery collections, critically acclaimed in Poland
and abroad.
In 2011, Marian Gołogórski turned to another artistic
technique – watercolors. How did it all start?
The Artist says: “Up until now, the watercolor technique was
something I have never used before. I started from watercolor
pencil drawing and – trying many different approaches – finally
developed my own style in watercolor painting.”
Over 60 masterpieces were created during 2011 and 2012.
All of them were drawn and painted in Gologorski Gallery in
30 x 40 cm format. They are mostly focused on human body
in its natural beauty and expressive form. Still, for some they
might look inappropriate, hence the name 18+.
