Jordan of Wayne, New Jersey, John W. York of New Egypt, New Jersey, Calvin H. Wynn of Manville, New Jersey, have been elected to the NJSBA Hall of Fame for 2011. Jordan and York have will be inducted in the Achievement category, Petraglia for Special Achievement and Wynn in the Meritorious Service category. The installation will take place during the New Jersey State USBC Bowling Association Jamboree weekend September 23rd, 24th and 25th with the ceremony dur- ing the Hall of Fame dinner on Saturday the 24th at Clarion Hotel & Convention Center, 6821 Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Twp, N.J. Tom Jordan has been an active bowler in New Jersey for more than 35 years. During that time, he has amassed an impressive array of titles and awards, including national records for 899 three game series and 1198 four game series both set in 1989 which have earned him the respect of being one the premier bowlers in New Jersey. Tom’s achievements include: Winning three NJSBA titles, 1991, 1993 doubles and 2010 singles, winning numerous titles in county associations around the state as well as taking two PBA Eastern Region titles. John York has been an active bowler in New Jersey fo r more than 40 years. During that time he has amassed an impressive array of titles and awards, including a state record 3607 five man team series in the state tournament which have earned him the respect of being one the premier bowlers in New Jersey. John’s achievements include: Winning two NJSBA titles, 1999, 2000 team event, winning numerous titles in county associ- ations throughout the state and he has bowled back to back 300 games in tournament play The name “Johnny Petraglia” has become synonymous with the word “bowling”. He is only one of five players to win PBA’s Triple Crown – the Tournament of Champions in1971, the US Open in 1977, and the PBA National Championship in 1980. He is one of only two players to win PBA titles in six separate decades. While his accomplishments on the lanes are impressive, his overall impact on bowling reverberates nationwide and he is truly the ambassador for bowling. John’s achievements include: PBA Triple Crown, 14 National titles, seven Senior Tour titles, nine PBA Regional titles, four Senior Regional titles, Senior Tour Rookie of the Year 1998 and he is the official National Bowlers to Veterans ambassador. Calvin Wynn has dedicated more than 25 years of service to the bowlers of Somerset-Hunterdon and the State of New Jersey at not only the adult level but also with the youth. It was difficult to explain to people when they would ask if I ever bowled a perfect game. I know I’m a good bowler (218 average in his Friday Night Mixed League), and my friends will tell you that I can hit the pocket 99 tines out of 100 for the last few years. It’s like someone asking if you ever had a hole in one; I’ve had a double eagle, but never a hole in one.” Formica used a Storm Anarchy ball drilled by Randy Battistus at Holiday Bowl. He wasn’t even nervous on his final shot. In fact he would like to roll a second 300 in the next few weeks, now that he knows he can. Tony resides in Denville with his wife and bowling partner, Donna, and children Alison, 29 and Tony, Jr., 26. Athleticism is in the genes, as Tony’s father, Mike, was a left-handed pitcher for the Brooklyn Dodgers, recruited by Branch Rickey. Tony only bowls in winter leagues, two at Holiday, because he also enjoys golf, softball, ping pong, billiards, and “you name it.” He dedi- cated his perfecto to wife, Donna, for being there. The New Jersey State Bowling Association will be conducting the

Annual State Association Championship Tournament. In years past, each

county or area association hosted the event. John Colgate from Essex

County and Al Gonsiska from Morris County, both Past Presidents of the

State, have volunteered to be the directors of this year's tournament. TheTournament is scheduled for five weekends at Knob Hill Country Lanes,

Rt. 33, Manalapan, starting in April (April 16, 17, 23, 30), except for 

Easter Sunday and ending in May (May 1, 7, 14, 15), except for Mother's

Day.

Applications are available in all Morris County bowling centers and

throughout all the other centers in the State. The deadline for entries is

Remember last week’s tournament-within-a-tournament for the county

women’s 600 club? Well, the Bowling Writers Association of America

(BWAA) has the same concept as a fundraiser for the Chuck Pezzano

Scholarship Fund. Between April 11 and 17, entrants will use their league

scores that week to compete in one of two Singles Divisions: up to 199

Handicap and 200 plus Handicap.

There is also a Doubles Tournament where they can double with any-

one, anywhere who is sanctioned in the US. Handicap will be computed

at 90% from the highest entered average in each division. Entry forms and

fees have to be submitted before midnight Pacific time on April 11 to qual-

HACKENSACK, NJ - Lyndhurst sophomore Lexus Lopez show-

cased her considerable talent by coolly striking out in her third game

final frame to tally a 227 game, giving her the Bergen County Girls

Crown by a scant nine pins over Immaculate Heart Academy senior 

Colleen Blake, 675-666.

Lexus, who tops the North Jersey Interscholastic Conference

[NJIC] girls with a 197 average, exploded with 278 in a league

match a few days later, reinforcing the speculation that she is indeed

blossoming into one of the finest female bowlers in North Jersey.

In the team event, decided with the Baker Game Format,

Immaculate Heart [IHA] captured its seventh consecutive Bergen

County Title, besting Ridgewood, 2-0 on the depth and strength of 

its quintet, led by seniors Nicole Linder, Colleen Blake and junior 

Taylor Strothmann. Ridgewood, which mastered Paramus Catholic

and Bergen Tech on its way to the finals, was led by southpaw

anchor Shelby Taylor.
