only PBA title in the PBA50 Rossi Lanes

Eastern Open in Elmira, N.Y., hell head

to Washington, D.C., where he will be

    presented the American Ambulance

Associations highest honor, the Star of

    Life Award.

Conroy, a 51-year-old New York City

native and 2013 East Region PBA50

Player of the Year, has worked in the

emergency medical field for 31 years,

including the last 28 as a paramedic.

Now living in Mahopac, N.Y., he worked

most of his career in New York City

where he was among the first responders

not only for the 9-11 attack on the WorldTrade Center, but the 1993 bomb attack

on the WTCs north tower. In addition, he

    was awarded the Emergency Medical

Services Medal of Honor after entering a

    burning apartment building and rescuing

    four trapped people.

John Conroy is the North Shore LIJ

    Health System Center for EMS

    Manhattan Division selection for The

AAA Star of Life Award, a release from

    the American Ambulance Association

noted. He is worthy for this distinction

not because of a single act, but a body of

    work that includes countless pre-hospital

saves, rescues from the WTC bombing

and tireless work at the WTC after the

attacks of September 11th, 2001, in addi-

    tion to numerous professional awards

    and distinctions.

There is no question to Johns profes-

sional career being an outstanding one. In

addition to all his professional accolades,

John is a professional bowler who won

the 2013 East Region PBA50 Bowler of

    the Year.

Conroy will receive his award along

with other class of 2014 honorees during

a three-day conference on Capitol Hill

March 24-26. He also will have a chance

to meet with members of congress, and

key congressional aides to discuss leg-

islative issues critical to all EmergencyMedical Service professionals.

    I never thought about awards,

Conroy, the 2013 PBA50 Rossi Lanes

Eastern Open champion, said. I just get

a lot of joy out of taking care of people. It

feels real good (to be named the Star of

Life recipient), because it also will give

me a chance to talk to our congressman

about EMS and ways to improve.

    PBA East Regions

    2013 Pat Patterson

    Award winner, lost his

    battle with cancer on

    Raymond and his wife

    Millie were long-time

sponsors of the PBAMil-Ray Foods Eastern

    Open.

ARLINGTON, Texas - The United States Bowling

Congress and Track Bowling have reached an agree-

ment making Track the official sponsor of the

Showcase Lanes and BowlTV during the 2014 USBC

Open and Women's Championships in Reno, Nev.

The Track Showcase Lanes, located on the

ground floor of Reno's National Bowling Stadium,

will be home to The Columbia 300 Forty Frame

Game and again will be available for bowlers to

book practice sessions to sharpen their skills or

finalize their game plans for the Open

    Championships and Women's Championships.

BowlTV will feature nearly 30 live broadcasts from

the NBS and nearby Reno-Sparks Convention Center

during the tournaments. The live stream schedule will

include defending champions, hall of famers and

other top competitors from around the globe.

"Track customers are the smart players, who want

to maximize their edge with premium quality

equipment," Track Brand Manager Rich Hanson

said. "The Track Showcase Lanes in the National

Bowling Stadium are the new and exciting destina-

tion for bowlers committed to success and the place

to enjoy seeing results of their efforts. It is the per-

fect place to talk Track Bowling."

The Showcase Lanes concept was introduced dur-

ing the 2012 Open Championships in Baton Rouge,

La., and expanded in 2013 with the addition of the

10 lanes on the ground floor of the NBS as part ofan ongoing renovation project.

Traditionally, the lane conditions for the Open

and Women's Championships are posted on

BOWL.com and available for review or download

just before the start of each tournament. Matching

the oil, lane machine, lane surface and environment

are proven challenges, so being able to practice on

lanes maintained by the USBC event staff, and so

close to the tournament action, has made the Track

    Showcase Lanes a popular option.

"USBC is thrilled to have Track Bowling support

our members with sponsorship of the Showcase

Lanes and BowlTV at the USBC Open

    Championships," said Jason Overstreet, USBC

    Managing Director of Marketing and

    Communications. "USBC looks for partnerships

that provide added value for our bowlers and

enhance the experience of our events. We believe

having Track as part of the

    Showcase Lanes and BowlTV

    unquestionably does both."

Teams will be able to reserve the

    Track Showcase Lanes for $125

per hour, with a 10-bowler maxi-

    mum. Both the Open

    Championships team lane condi-

    tion and the Women's

    Championships oil pattern will be

    available, and reservations are rec-

    ommended.

    Details on The Columbia 300

Forty Frame Game will be avail-able soon. For more information
