The Titanic The Titanic was built between 1909 and 1911. It was 882 feet in length and 175 feet in height. The Titanic had a crew of around 900 people. The Titanic’s engines were powered by pressurized steam from burning coal. It was a luxury passenger cruise that carried some of the world’s richest people as well as others looking for a new life in North America. The Titanic's intended course was from Southampton, England to New York City, USA.

The Titanic left Southampton on April 10, 1912 and stopped at destinations in France and Ireland before heading west towards New York. It collided with an iceberg and sank on April 15, 1912. While the Titanic carried over 2,200 people, there were only enough life boats for around 1,200 of them. Over 1,500 people died because of the sinking. The remains of the Titanic wreck sit on the sea bed over 12,400 feet beneath the surface. Written by: Gladys

Kylian Mbappé Kylian Mbappé Lottin was born on the 20th of December 1998. He is a French professional footballer who plays as a forward for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain and the France national team.

Mbappé came into prominence at an early age, starring for the youth academy at Bondy before gaining a move to Monaco, where he made his professional debut in 2015, age 16. Mbappé then quickly established himself as a regular goal scorer for the first team in the 2016–17 season, as he helped the club gain their first Ligue 1 title in seventeen years. A year later, he transferred to Paris Saint-Germain for €180 million, making him the most expensive teenager, and the world's second-most expensive player.

Mbappé is one of my favourite football players because he started to play professionally at only age 16, which is very young for a football player. At 19, he won his first world cup! I like him because he is a really good football player and he plays for one of my favourite teams. One day I would love to meet him in person! Written by: Mathéo

Our thoughts for you on ELA After the ELA run, we thought it would be a nice idea to reflect on the day. We have put together a few questions for you to think about after running for this great cause.

1) How do you feel about running for children who have disabilities?

2) How can you help children in need? 3) How do you feel running such a far distance? 4) Have you ever helped someone with an illness or disease?

Mindfulness – Sharing Friendship

Breathe in and out, and imagine sending the golden light to a friend that needs a little kindness.

Written by Rym and Nouha

Sharing Friendship

1. Sit mindfully, with your spine straight and body relaxed. Close your eyes. Take three slow mindful breaths.

2. Think of someone or something that makes you happy. Maybe it’s a person you love or a special pet.

3. Imagine your feelings for that person or pet as golden rays of light in your heart. Breathe in and out, imagine sending the golden light to a friend who needs kindness. See your friend smiling.

4. With your next out-breath, send your golden light to someone you don’t know very well. See that person receive your light.

5. Now breathe in and out, and share your golden rays with someone you feel grumpy towards. Watch your kindness help that person.

6. Finally, share your golden light with everyone in the world. Imagine everyone laughing together.

7. Smile with that happy feeling. Take three more soft breaths before you open your eyes.

How do you put a giraffe in a fridge in three steps? You open the door, put the giraffe in and close. How do you put an elephant in a fridge in four steps? You open the door, you take out the giraffe and you put the elephant in and close the door. The lion invites everyone to his party, one friend can’t come. Who is it? The friend is the elephant because he is stuck in the fridge.
