Application

2

Automation Studio™ is now compatible with Windows 8.

Quick Access to Translations

3

A new “Translation Manager” quick access button was added to the toolbar. It is also possible to save copies of all project translations.

Labeling Components

4

It is now possible to insert labels onto components. These labels will allow you to highlight important information about specific components in the system. They are visible on a dedicated layer.

New “Component Tooltip”

5

A new command field on the Home tab called “Component Tooltip” allows you to quickly add information to a component in your schematic such as: text or hyperlinks to audio, video, pictures, PDFs or other file types. Once inserted, the file will launch from the Component Tooltip and will open in a Viewer.

Failure Trigger Tool

6

A failure trigger tool is now available during simulation mode. This feature allows you to trigger all types of failure scenarios during simulation.

Circuit & Installation Component Interconnectivity

7

In Project Standards, a new option was added to connect components from several circuits using different fluids. With this new feature, you are able to simulate different fluid combinations; however, the user is still responsible to properly configure the properties of the resulting fluid mix.

Number of Lines

8

The maximum number of customizable circuit/installation lines was increased from 10 to 30.

Group Jump Management

9

When a single link is converted into 2 Jumps, the interconnection between Jumps is maintained. If the Jumps are grouped before their duplication, then the duplicated Jumps will be independent from the 2 Source Jumps. You can then save Jump assemblies in a user-defined library or catalogue.

*This conversion is a similar process to components that communicate through variable assignment*

Alphanumeric Sorting

10

Alphanumeric sorting has been integrated into most of the tables used in application dialogs.

Symbol Management

11

It is now possible to configure component symbols within assemblies by using the configured options in the manufacturers’ catalogue.

New Hydraulic/Pneumatic Heat Exchanger

12

This new component allows heat exchange between air and hydraulic fluid. It can be used to cool or heat.

An option was added to Project Properties allowing components to have 2 different fluid connections such as water and oil.

HMI Components

13

For added flexibility, two components were added to the HMI and Control Panel library with no background images: Numeric Command and Numeric Display

Improved Measuring Instruments

14

An energy consumption property was added to the power meter.

Energy can now be measured with the integral flow meter for fluid connections or with the watt meter for mechanical connections.

Flow coefficients Kv and Cv have been added to the 2 connection port meters.

Troubleshooting Tools

15

The manometer and thermometer troubleshooting tools are now compatible with the pneumatic module.

An option was added to be able to take measurements at only the quick connect component’s connection ports, considered as maintenance or test ports.

New SFC/Grafcet Variable Types

16

The SFC/Grafcet module can now perform data processing on Enumeration, Structure and Array variable types.

Other Software Bugs Now Fixed

17

The following computer system failures are now corrected:

o When a complex type property was modified in the Catalogue Manager

o While a new mechanism was being created

o Drawing a link in a Grafcet (even after having cancelled the previous link)

o The creation of a user-defined variable with type “STRUCT” that contained 101 elements

Project files were corrupted when Automation Studio™ closed after losing the connection with the network license server;

The directional valve “Solenoid 2-way" command aliases did not inherit aliases from the emitter variables to which they were linked to;

The dynamic power tool did not save simulation values when the measured property was either “Absolute Energy” or “Energy Consumption”;

The “Bidirectional Fixed Displacement Motor” component became unstable when connected to a directional valve with all its ports blocked;

The installation of Automation Studio™ Server 64 bits on Windows 7 & Vista did not activate MSMQ;

In the regulator pressure valves, the “Pilot Valve” was unstable when it was used as a “Pilot”;

There were increasing temperature problems on hydraulic motor outputs;

The “Pressure Compensated Flow Divider” did not work properly;

The “Mechanism Manager” interface was not configured to display data when Automation Studio™ was updated in a version previous to service release 6;

In the “Flow Controllers” regulation tab, the curve was not respected;

It was not possible to transfer the electrotechnical asynchronous motor speed to the electrical motor of the hydraulic module.
