March at Kids Village means celebrating St. Patricks Day with warm Irish
Soda Bread, Magical Rainbow Mobiles, Sneaky Leprechaun Traps, ando course, a bit o Irish Luck. But the children at Kids Village are what
make our school Magical throughout the year.
We wanted to send a very special thank you to all o the amilies that have registered
or next year. Your support means so much to us, THANK YOU! I you have not
yet registered or next year, there is still time. You can fnd registration orms online
or at the ront desk.
Its hard to believe that summer is just around the corner with cold temperatures
keeping us bundled up. But, it will be here beore you know it and with it comes
Summer in the Village! At Kids Village we believe in developing a childs whole-sel
and our summer camps are no exception. We provide an environment o learning,socializing, and creativity that cant be beat. We will be oering a discounted
rate i you register beore May 15th. See the ront desk or our website or more
inormation.
Our Daddy Daughter Ball was a huge success! We hope all o you Fathers and
Fairies made some great memories. We have had many o you ask When is it the
boys turn? So. . . . get ready to start your engines, because we are gearing up or
a very special night o Mamas, Boys, and Racing Toys. e night will include
our own Kids Village Pinewood Derby, complete with dinner rom the Checkered
Flag Diner, a Winners Circle awards ceremony, a photo op with the Pit Crew and
much more. Mark your calendars or March 31st and speed on over now to pick up
your tickets.
And last, but o course not least, our students are getting ready or their Class
Programs during the week o March 13th - 16th. e children have been working
hard on the songs they have learned and a ew o the classes have been memorizing
parts o a play to share with you. Its sure to be one or the Family Video Archive.

Have a Happy St. Patricks Day! May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks
that grow, and may trouble avoid you wherever you go. Irish blessing
March comes in like a Lion and we have a lion-size share of
important concepts to learn. We will continue learning all about
telling time and counting money as well as working on our
multiplication facts. Subtracting two and three digit numbers
and calculating the dimensions of shapes will be a few of the
challeng es you can expect. We have some Sight Word Speed
Drills planned for this month along with a few writing projects.
Here is a closer look at some of our lessons for this month:
Week #1 February 27th - March 2nd
Work with Final Stable Syllable tion, introduce vcv with
syllable division, addition with three addends, measure and
draw line segments to the nearest quarter inch, tell time to the
minute, and subtract two digit numbers.
Week #2 March 5th - 9th
Use the vcv rule, sight word speed drills, review the Dropping
Rule, use digraphs au and aw multiply by 3 and 6, estimate
and measure using feet and yards, subtract two and three digit
numbers, and write numbers in expanded form.
Week #3 March 12th - 16th
Identify digraph ew ei and ie, sight word speed drills, identify
Scribal O, record growth on a line graph, read and write
numbers to 99,999, multiply numbers by 1,000, telling time to
the quarter hour, and multiply by 9.
Week #4 March 19th - 23rd
Use the suxes -ful, -ness, and -es, and prexes over-, pre-, and
under-, review the vv rule, nd the missing addend for sums of
100, make change from $1.00, nd the area of a rectangle, and
identify multiplication fact patterns on the hundred number
chart.
Week #5 March 27th - 30thSpelling with Final C, identify Final Stable Syllables -sion, and
-ture, use prexes dis-, im-, in-, ir-, and un-, locating negative
numbers on a number line, multiply single and multiple digit
numbers with expanded form, and nd the missing dimension
of a rectangle.

Honesty and Loyalty go hand-in-hand because loyaltyis a trait built upon trust. ey are two o the most
important values we can teach our children. Learningto be honest will develop a childs moral and emotionalstrength as well as build solid sel-esteem and character.
We will spend plenty o time role-playing to practice thevalue o Honesty as well as sharing stories that emphasize
the importance o honest behavior.

Science
Te mysteries of weather and the earths
atmosphere will be our focus this month.
Well learn all about the many layers of
the earths atmosphere, how and why the
temperature changes in each layer, and well
learn the dierence between weather and
climate.
Art
Te Great Wall of China, Te Eifel ower, Te
Golden Gate Bridge, and Te aj Mahal are
just a few of the structures we will be looking
at this month as we study famous architecture
and sculptures. We have a few great class
projects we will be working on to help us learn
the concepts of architecture too.
KitchenWhat if your child was in charge of making dinner
tonight? We are learning how to organize a menu,
create a grocery list, and follow a recipe. So making
dinner might not be a bad idea! Here are a few of
the things well be cooking up this month: Week
#1 - ortillas, Week #2 - Homemade Mac n Cheese,
Week #3 - Parfaits, Week #4 - Fry Bread, Week #5 -
Chicken and Dumpling Soup
MusicWe are almost ready for the big day! Class
programs are coming up quick but we are
working hard to memorize our parts and
stay on queue. We are also going to learn all
about organizing notes in a time signature.
Our poem for this month is titled Im Up
Here.
Social StudiesTere are many American symbols that
remind us of our freedom and unify us as
a country. We will learn all about these
important American symbols this month
as well as learning the importance of our
National Anthem.
