This program has been approved for a maximum of 7 hours of Category A continuing education. Certified Athletic Trainers are responsible for claiming only those hours actually spent participating in the continuing education activity. According to the educational levels described by the CEC Committee of the NATA, the following continuing education course is considered to be Advanced.*Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants may also use the CEUs given by the NATA. COURSE OBJECTIVES This course is designed for Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Chiropractors, and Soccer Coaches. The intended result of this activity is to focus on the long term implications of the injured soccer athlete and provide contemporary and innovative strategies for treatment. At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to: 1. Discuss the long term implications of knee and hip injuries in the mature and former soccer athlete. 2. Explain the latest non-surgical and surgical treatment options for hip, knee and soft tissue injuries in the mature and former athlete. 3. Demonstrate a rehabilitation program for mature and former athletes recovering from hip, knee and soft tissue injuries. SPECIAL NEEDS Washington University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery fully complies with the legal requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act and rules and regulations thereof. If any participant of this meeting is in need of accommodations, please do not hesitate to submit written requests at least one month prior to seminar date.
