Zeke really enjoyed coaching for his kids inthe various sports they played, and he alsocoached his granddaughter’s soccer team.Zeke speaks so highly of his children andsays he loved every minute of raising them.Zeke was married for 20 years before he andhis wife divorced.

He met his significant other, Gloria whohe has been with for 24 years. Together theyenjoy family time and each other’s company.Zeke now has 11 grandchildren and 2 greatgrandchildren.

Zeke Moved into Railside in May of2010. He has been battling what they thinkis the “Stiff Man’s Disease”. He started com-ing down with symptoms shortly after hisretirement in 2008. Zeke says he wouldn’tchange a thing about his life. Even with allof his health problems he says it’s made him

who he is today. We al-ways enjoy seeing yoursmiling face Zeke!Thanks for sharing a lit-tle bit about your lifewith all of us here atRailside.

Zeke C.

Zeke C. was born on June, 5th 1945 toRosalie and Miguel C. in Harlingen Texas.Zeke has 4 sisters, 2 older and 2 youngerthan him; he also had a brother whopassed away as a child. When Zeke wasyoung he loved sports especially playingbaseball, football and basketball.

At the age of 5 Zeke’s family moved toGrand Rapids to be closer to his mother’sfamily. Zeke Graduated from GodwinHeights in 1964. After High School Zekejoined the Army, where he worked as a Ra-dio Operator and repair man. He alsofought in the Vietnam War.

When he came home from the War heworked at Leers as a computer tech and thenhe worked a short time as a plumber andan electrician. He got a job at GM in 1979and worked there until he retired in 2008.

Zeke remained inGrand Rapids and wasmarried in 1969. Theyhad 7 Children 6 daugh-ters and a son. They en-joyed camping and hav-ing family gatherings.
