Creating an Effective Strategy When Credentialing APPs and AHPs

The steady increase in the number of mid-level practitioners in healthcare

requires MSPs to be prepared and strategic in how they are managed in your

organization. Whether you’re a new member of the Medical Staff Services team

or an experienced MSP, it’s no surprise that credentialing and granting privileges

to some APPs and AHPs is particularly challenging. This session will introduce a

new method for identifying and tracking these practitioners within your

institution as well as learning about their many verification sources. Let’s

compare practices!!

Kathy Matzka, CPMSM, CPCS

avoid confirmation bias is to apply critical thinking skills in credentialing and

privileging decisions. Exercises and case studies will be utilized to help participants

understand how to make good decisions.
