Manuals comprising the ISO 9001:2008 (Quality); ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental) & OHSAS 18001:2007 (Occupational Health & Safety) Standards have undergone a 2nd Surveillance Audit last June 09-11, 2011 conducted by a Team of Auditors from UKAS Accredited Certifying Body AJA Registrars, Inc.

During the actual audit, the OHSEQS Integrated Management System Manuals, Records and Controlled Documents were checked, sampled and reviewed relative to ISO Standards particularly on Procedures and Controls of Operations, HRD and Administration, Accounting & Finance, Engineering Purchasing & Maintenance, and Safety and Environmental Monitoring & Controls. The conduct of Internal Audits & Surveys, Reporting System to Authorities and compliance with Legal & Regulatory Requirements were also validated (i.e. Objectives and Management Programme, Emergency Response Procedures, OHS & Environmental Risk Assessment, etc.). Standards. At the end of the audit, the UKAS auditors

recommended the continued recognition of our 3 ISO certifications, as follows:

1. ISO 14001:2004 (EMS) : Recommended for Re-Certification

2. ISO 9001:2008 (QMS) : Recommended for Re-Certification

3. OHSAS 18001:2007 (OHSMS) : Recommended for Re-Certification

With the System in place and having Quality Continuous Improvements each Department’s Processes make SCIPSI more competent, reliable and trusted Cargo Handling Operator in the region.

The success of this audit became possible because of the strong commitment and support from SCIPSI Management and its employees working hand-in-hand with the SAMAGEWU-TUPAS UNION Workers.

For almost eight (8) years now, SCIPSI remains to be the first and only Cargo-Handling Operator in Visayas and Mindanao having 3-ISO Certificates. MABUHAY ANG SCIPSI!!!

Due to the ever-growing demands of different cargo handling activities in the port, on March 2011 SCIPSI organizes a Regular Weekly Operations Meeting held every Friday night at SCIPSI Resto.

The meeting tackles mainly Operational Issues such as Safety Performance & Accident/Incident Reporting, Vessel Productivity & Operational Controls, Engineering Updates on Lifting Equipment & Stevedoring Gears and HRD Concerns.
