    Asepsis

Aseptic conditions are established when the access cavity is

complete the area is dry and there is no leakage around the rubberdam. Sodium hypochlorite is used to rinse and irrigate the area

Once the working length is determined the canal is cleaned and shaped in a

crown down (crown to apex) direction. There is specific instrumentation foraccomplishing each stage of cleaning and shaping .

The canal can divided into coronal middle and apical thirds for this purpose.

If time or situation (necrotic tissue) does not allow a calcium hydroxide

paste is placed in the canal as an dressing between appointments. In

the clinic at ASDOH we will utilize a product called metapaste which is

gently syringed into the canalsThe coronal access is the sealed using a temporary zoe paste. It is highly

important to insure that there are no chances of coronal leakage.

Fitting and Seating the Master Cone

A sized gutta percha cone( to the master apical

file size) is fitted within 1 mm of the workinglength. It should be sug and have a slight

    resistance to removal. Radiographic examination

should show it to be no more than one mm short

    of the working length

    Canal Obturation using vertically

    compacted Warm Gutta Percha

The master cone is seated with sealer

and the coronal segment is removedwith heat and in a series of warming

and condensing stages the canal is

obturated to the apical 1/3 and

    backfilled to seal the canal.
