however 与 but

however 意为“然而”作副词， 可放在句首，也可放在句中或句末，需用逗号与句子的其他部分隔开。eg. ---I read it in a newspaper.

but 意为“但是”作并列连词，可连接两个句子或两个并列句子成分， 放在第二部分之前，后面不用逗号隔开。eg. She is old, but she looks young.

before 在…之前 (1) 作介词，介词后要用动词的 -ing 形 式，不能用动词原形或动词不定式。 eg. Before going out, put on your coat.

出去之前，请穿上外套。

(2) 作连词，后接从句。eg. I like watching a film before I go

shopping.

在我出去购物之前，我喜欢看电影。

(1) be good for 对…有益， 对…有好处 eg. Milk is good for children.

牛奶对孩子有益。(2) 相关词组： be good at 意为“擅长…” , 相当于 “ do

well in”

eg. She is good at learning English.

她擅长学英语。

一楼餐厅– 顶楼floor 作名词，意为 “（楼房的）层，（室内）地板，地面”eg. How many floors does the building

have?

这幢楼有几层？ ---Which floor do you live on? 你住几楼？ ---I live on the 10th floor. 我住十楼。

floor 作楼层解时，英美说法有异，英国人的说法依次为 the ground floor, the

first floor, the second floor( 一、二、三楼… ) ，而美国人的说法是 the first

floor, the second floor, the third floor…
