Magyar Suzuki Corporation was founded by its majority owner, Suzuki Motor Corporation in 1991.

Being a key player of the European automotive industry and the Hungarian economy, the Hungarian affiliate is one of the leading companies of the country, with a significant contribution to the national economy. The company gives jobs to more than ten thousand people including its employees, suppliers and dealerships.

In 2017, Magyar Suzuki rose to the top by selling 15,161 new vehicles, increasing their market share to 13.04 percent, which earned them the top place on the Hungarian passenger car market. Within that, the highly successful Vitara is the best selling model. The Suzuki dealership network has been further expanded and now includes 76 members all over the country.

In addition to the domestic market, the company also exports its products to 128 countries. The Vitara and SX4 S-Cross models produced in Hungary roam the roads of Japan and other countries of Asia, South America, Oceania and even Africa.

Magyar Suzuki’s sales revenues exceeded EUR 2 billion at the end of its business year closed in December 2017. 176,705 passenger cars rolled off the production lines of the factory, where the 3 millionth Suzuki was produced in April.

The Esztergom factory has played a key role in innovative manufacturing technologies since the beginning of its activities. Following the HUF 2.8 billion factory modernization program finished in 2016, the company is now in the forefront of robotization. On its way to become a “smart factory”, Magyar Suzuki will introduce additional intelligent manufacturing processes in collaboration with its partners by 2020. Thanks to the HUF 5.3 billion modernization project supported by EU sources, new, competitive, safe and tested Suzuki prototypes will be manufactured in the Esztergom plant.

As a result of the continuous developments, Magyar Suzuki is ready to manufacture its products at a higher technical level, more economically, more safely and in an even more environmentally friendly way, further strengthening its leading position in the domestic market and the international automotive industry.

FOCUS ON EXPERTISE

At the end of 2017, Magyar Suzuki Corporation was market leader in the Hungarian domestic car market. The result was highly attributable to the Vitara, the company’s most popular model, and the SX4 S-Cross, produced in Esztergom, which also represents the SUV style.

Available from the beginning of 2017, the Vitara Limited became a new milestone for Magyar Suzuki: the company’s flagship model equipped with special extras has given further boost to Suzuki’s compact crossovers.

Among the hugely anticipated new models, the latest generations of the Ignis and the Swift debuted in 2017, while the new Swift Sport being introduced in 2018. All three models are manufactured in Suzuki’s Japanese factories. The three new small cars are part of the Group’s “SUZUKI NEXT 100” Mid-Term Management Plan, which aims to introduce at least one new model a year.

Suzuki offers a range of innovative technologies in its models such as the addition of hybrid drive to turbocharged petrol engines or the AllGrip all-wheel drive system, as well as Suzuki’s own-developed BoosterJet turbocharged engine introduced in 2017. Available for the Vitara Sport, the SX4 S-Cross and the Swift models, the BoosterJet utilizes energy in the most effective way thanks to direct fuel injection. In addition to the dynamic driving experience, the turbocharged engine also offers lower CO2 emission and fuel consumption.

WE ARE SUZUKI

Beyond the models produced with reliable and advanced technology, as well as conscious and consistent brand building efforts, the dynamic growth of Magyar Suzuki Corporation’s performance is, to a great extent, the result of the extension of its sales network and the high quality work of authorized service partners. With the dealerships opened in Bicske, Szentes and Veszprém in 2017, and Sopron and Pécs in 2018, Suzuki’s national sales network now comprises 76 showrooms.

In line with Suzuki’s corporate strategy, the cars produced in Esztergom and imported from other countries appear in exhibitions and events together with other important and successful products of the brand: motorcycles and outboard engines. The motto of our global strategy, “We are Suzuki”, has been turned into Hungarian to indicate the special role the brand plays in Hungary, and to highlight something that is especially true for us: “Every terrain is home ground”.

Magyar Suzuki Corporation has achieved explosive success in Hungarian fleet sales, with a nearly-300-percent growth within the last five years. In addition to excellent total cost of ownership ratio and innovative technologies, a nationwide service network makes our fleet operations even more reliable and streamlined. The Vitara and the SX4 S-Cross enjoy the highest popularity: these two SUVs accounted for 86  % of our fleet sales in 2017.

The Vitara is also perfectly suited for driving outside the city; no wonder that it was the model chosen by multiple Hungarian national park managements including the Fertő-Hanság National Park and the Hortobágy National Park. The Hungarian National Police Headquarters has also significantly increased its vehicle park: in addition to 150 Suzuki Swifts, their fleet was further expanded by 450 Vitaras in 2017, followed by another 75 vehicles this year.

The Hungarian Defense Forces also opted in favor of the Vitaras, purchasing 550 of them for their fleet from Magyar Suzuki. It is especially worth noting that the German company E.ON also chose to place their trust in Japanese cars: their vehicle fleet now has 60 Vitaras. The National Directorate General for Disaster Management purchased 32 of the most popular Suzuki model, and in June 2018, the National Tax and Customs Administration will introduce Vitaras in their own vehicle park as well.

Due to its size and flexibility, the SX4 S-Cross is also a highly popular choice for our fleet partners. The Hungarian National Railways have purchased 300 SX4 S-Cross models for their fleet, while the Hungarian Food Chain Security Department uses several hundred S-Cross models as corporate vehicles.

The number of organizations having Suzuki cars in their fleets continues to grow every year, but our existing partners also do their part in contributing to healthy sales. We have had a cooperation with K&H Bank since 2016: employees of the bank are offered Suzuki models as fleet or company cars. In addition, Magyar Suzuki Corp. continues to work closely together with the Nationwide Civil Self-Defence Organizations of Hungary.

In 2018 the Japanese manufacturer’s newest offerings will include the redesigned 2017 Swift, as well as the new Swift Sport, to be introduced in the market in June 2018, which will be a major departure from earlier models, bringing a fresh new appearance and the high quality expected of Japanese cars. The new Swift is expected to be not just in private use, but also enriching corporate fleets.

PARTING SEAS

As the first Suzuki outboard engine was made in 1965, the Marine Division of the company celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2015. The production of Suzuki outboard engines came a long way in the last more than fifty years. With its innovative solutions, the brand represents the leading edge of the industry; Suzuki outboards are second to none in the market. The engineers of the company are passionate sailors themselves, who use their expertise to bring outboard motors, based on fuel-efficient and advanced technology, to perfection. Resulting from their work, owners of the Suzuki outboards can spend more time than ever on board — in pleasure and safety.

Thanks to the developments and innovative solutions unique in the market, Suzuki outboard engines ensure a solid position for the brand in the forefront of the industry. The models offer a great combination of environmental consciousness, efficiency, reliability and performance. Ranging from the light and portable DF2.5 to the DF350A, the world’s most powerful high-tech V6 engine, Suzuki offers outboards to suit every need and style.

Suzuki’s Marine Division sold its three millionth marine engine in 2014. In addition to the successful retail performance, the brand is successful in outboard engine tenders and fleet procurements. Beyond that, Suzuki’s position in the global outboard motor production industry is well reflected by that fact that, unique in the sector, the company has been awarded no less than eight international innovation prizes.

The Suzuki Marine Division has played a crucial role in the motorization of marine vehicles. An active player of the domestic market, it has also fulfilled a regional role since the autumn of 2017. The business and commercial activities in the Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Belarusian, Czech, Slovakian, Romanian, Serbian, Bulgarian and Albanian markets have been managed from Hungary.

Having sold outboard engines in Hungary since 1999, the division is highly familiar with the domestic needs. It also offers authorized dealership services to its clients involved in river and lake sailing.

UPDATED RANGE

Suzuki ranked second in 2017 in the Hungarian market of new motorcycles. The result is mainly attributable to the new models of the brand, as well as a number of successful “We are Suzuki” events. The best selling motorcycle model was the V-Strom 650XT with a total of 139 delivered to owners.

New modelsSuzuki unveiled some exciting new models in the most important international events.

SV650XOne of the sensations of the Tokyo Motor Show was the SV650X, Suzuki’s new retro model. Soon afterwards, this new icon of the modern café racers was on show in Milan for the European audience. As hinted earlier, the brand would like to satisfy the group of customers, who love the motorcycle building style prevalent in England in the 1950s and 60s. Equipped with a V-twin engine block, the new model features a raised handlebar and two optionally available LED fog lamps beside the headlight. The lamps are “crowned” by a sporty cowl. The model is equipped with spectacular new stitched leather seats. By introducing the SV650X, Suzuki has created a new category in its model range, and is ready to take a leading role in the market of modern café racers.

Burgman 400The integrated LED lamps in the front panel make the model even more characteristic, while the upward-curved design of the windshield offers optimal protection against the weather. The stepped design seat is now 20mm thicker, and provides more comfort to the driver and passenger alike, while the design of the grip and the rear section delivers a sleeker and more powerful look.

GSX250RThe A2 category model combines confident, sporty design and dynamic performance with comfort and ergonomics. It is as convenient to ride this motorcycle in dense city traffic as in long winding back roads on the way home. It delivers the best performance at low and medium engine speeds. The engine delivers a torque of 23.4Nm at 6,500rpm, while its peak performance of 25HP is available at 8,000rpm.

V-Strom 250The new V-Strom 250 is driven by the redesigned version of Suzuki’s 248cc in-line two-cylinder engine. The engineers paid special attention to the torque delivered at low and medium engine speeds, which delivers 23.4Nm at 6,500rpm to the touring enduro. The powerful two-cylinder engine delivers its peak performance of 25HP at 8,000rpm, and can cover up to 500km with one tank of fuel.

GSX-R125 and GSX-S125Due to the high-performance 125cc engine and the lowest weight (133kg) in the category, the GSX-S125 and GSX-R125 offers the best power-to-weight ratio and acceleration in its segment.
