Magswitch 2011 Product Offering

For 2011, Magswitch has some exciting new products and changes. We have enhanced our product offering around our Universal Base with 4 great new accessories for the base. We promote these individual tool attachments around the Universal Base as part of the “Magswitch Workholding System”. We strongly believe woodworkers will want to add many of these accessories once they buy the base.

The “Magswitch Workholding System” is a collection of clever and handy tools that combine the versatility of our “anywhere on the table, fast set up, strong, on off magnetic clamps” with tools that can hold, position or guide wood on all cast iron tables and fences. The value is drive by the flexibility of the tools for all tables, and the speed at which woodworkers can set up.

Firm Ball Bearing support for passing wood through a

blade with less effort & damage. Angled in/out feed to

allow for blade drift adjustment. Ball Bearings can be

removed & repositioned for extra support in one location,

or when working with smaller stock. Provides a

measured & consistent gap for use when passing wood

into a Spindle Sander. Reduce Burning and increase

Magswitch Mag-Jig 30mm: ‘4 stars’

‘These little magnets are great for making custom jigs

to clamp down to the cast iron tabletops on table saws,

band saws, drill presses, etc. They are magnificently

strong magnets and won't easily move once turned on.

The really great thing is that you don't need to

permanently attach them to your jig- a precise hole is

enough. This allows you to create bunches of jigs and

just move the magnets from one to another. ’

‘I have the Pro version (30mm) and it is one of my favorite

accessories and the first featherboard I reach for when

Ripping anything. The holding power, the convenience, and even the on the-fly adjustment makes it a

truly wondrous tool.

If you have a cast iron topped table saw, this is such a great

accessory I couldn't recommend more fervently. With the

Vertical hold down attachment, it becomes even more useful. With the new double-stack attachment it works for tall stock or if you're beveling panels.

‘I was so impressed at Magswitch's performance on mytable saw that it swayed me to get the Bench Dog ironrouter table. Yes, you can get it to slide if you really try,but I have put it on top of sawdust and it still held undernormal use. I have put the magnets on top of the miter

groove where I thought it would slip, and it held. It workson rips that are too wide for my old featherboard to

work. I also have made great use of it as a magnet to pickup screws and nails that I have spilled..So easy to use.’

Using the Featherboards as wood holding pieces

‘Once I cut out the first side, and shaped it, it became the template for the rest of the sides. After using a combination of the table saw and the band saw to produce the initial shape, I then held it in place using some of the Magswitch featherboards so I could hit it with the drill-mounted Blowfly to smooth the curves out.
