Newest Products

During the industry downtime, WOM has been busy ne-tuning manufacturing and ramping up its product line with new prod-ucts. We are proud to introduce to you the newest additions to the WOM product line.

The Hyper Torque 16 for High Pressure Valves (patent pending)The normal operating torque required to open and close high-pressure valves is tre-mendously high and an even tougher task in extreme weather conditions or large size valves. As a solution, many manufacturers have come up with a Ball Screw Operated Valve for lower operating torque. However, these valves are equipped with a Lower Balance Stem Mechanism, posing a potential leak path and increasing the total weight of the valve, making it dicult to accommodate at certain space requirements.

In response to the disadvantages found in the Ball Screw Operated Valves, WOM has engineered a torque reducer that eliminates the use of a Balance Stem- The Hyper Torque 16. This innovative and unique design fea-tures a Gear- Plunger Mechanism instead of the Lower Balance Stem Mechanism. Utiliz-ing the Gear and Plunger Mechanism great-ly reduces the operating torque so that the valve can be opened and closed with ease, gets rid of the potential leak path encounter with the use of a lower balance stem and are compact in height providing more exibility to accommodate various applications.

The Gear-Plunger Mechanism has a pro-vision for “locking & unlocking” which has been tested and proven to hold pressure in

absence of the lower balance stem while in the lock position.

The Hyper Torque 16 oers distinct benets to the user, such as:

Mansing Phase, Dattatray Chalak, Milind Kulkarni, Pratik Mahajan, Ravi Sankapale, Ravi Hadli, Chandrashekhar Tupe, Shivaji Khandagale, Dinesh Kashetty, Ninad Oak

Who are the Heavyweight Champions?

Magnum Forge and Machine Works (MFMW).

MFMW accepted the challenge and victori-ously produced the biggest open-die forged piece to date - the 18 ¾” 10,000 psi Ram Type BOP body.

With the billet weighing in at 11,500 kgs (25,353 lbs), the MFMW team utilized stra-tegic planning and skillful material handling techniques to forge the BOP body in the 16-ton forging hammer.

This new feat has signicantly added to the arsenal of open and close die forgings WOM has to oer.

Congratulations MFMW on this great achievement!

Setting the Bar for Excellence

In today’s fast paced work environments, there are fewer thank you notes written yet WOM never fails to receive them. A recent order commissioned WOM to supply ENSCO and BP with 50 valves for a choke manifold aboard the Thunder Horse Platform in the Gulf of Mexico. The project called for a fast turnaround and WOM was up for the chal-lenge, knowing this would only reinforce the relationship with BP as the go to manu-facturer for quality product and quick turn-around. Within the record time of 27 days, WOM was able to fulll the order just under the deadline. This was immediately recog-nized by both ENSCO and BP with positive remarks.

Randall Sprague, ENSCO Subsea Superintendent for Thunder Horse stated, “I know it was a hurry type job as they are most of the time and I feel as though things were handled in a very professional manner by your [WOM] team, it is greatly appreciated.”

Eli Nichols, BOP Specialist from BP also mentioned, “can’t think of many, if any, vendors that could have handled a scope that big that quickly.”

TM

Its honorable to receive compliments for good service and on-time delivery and serves as a reminder that business is built on the support and eorts of everyone in-volved. Therefore, thank you to the R&R, Shipping, and Quality teams for all their ef-forts put forth to deliver this order.

Oshore Technology Conference NRG Center Houston, TexasMay 1-4, 2017This year, OTC was not just another trade-show, it was a game changer. With an im-pressive, record-breaking display, WOM literally stood out from the crowd of ex-hibitors this year with a full size 13 5/8” 15K BOP Stack assembly. As a representation of WOM’s massive manufacturing capabili-ties, visitors were in awe at the opportunity to see a real-life BOP stack and fascinated by the patriotic paint job representing the Texas Flag. The BOP Stack, which weighed a total of 75-tons, included one large bore double ram bop, one standard double ram bop, one standard single ram bop and an annular. Visitors and media alike were ex-cited to learn about the technology and ca-pabilities behind the BOP Stack and would quickly spread news to colleagues at the show about the towering BOP display which resulted in WOM being included in the OTC highlights of the Houston Chronicle. By the third day of the show, the BOP stack had be-come a social media sensation with people lining up to take seles. In conjunction with the BOP, WOM posi-tioned itself as an industry leader with a large 20’x30’ banner display outside of the NGR Center and was a platinum sponsor for the OTC Achievements Awards Luncheon. Two sponsorships that denitely provided WOM with added brand recognition. Need-less to say, OTC was once again a great show for WOM.

ILTA George R. Brown Center Houston, TX June 3-5, 2017The 2017 ILTA - International Liquids Termi-nals Association recently concluded their annual meeting and trade show in Houston, TX. WOM, one of the 200 exhibiting compa-nies, had a 10 x 10-foot booth displaying our ball valve product line at the two-day event dedicated to the storage and handling of re-ned hydrocarbons, such as gasolines, die-sel fuels, and crude oil. Hydrocarbon liquids require dierent han-dling equipment than natural gas and there are always new industry regulations and best practices being adopted. This trade show allows WOM to be exposed to the End Users, fabricators, and Resellers who may be interested in our technology.

For the past couple of years, ILTA has sched-uled presentations of a technical nature for interested ILTA members. Bill Lanning, API 6D Product Mgr for WOM’s ball valve prod-uct line, was asked to do a presentation on “Technical and Regulatory Considerations for Selecting and Purchasing Valves”. This is a broad and potentially very boring top-ic. However, the WOM team was up for the challenge of keeping the audience engaged. Bill created a three-page typed paper on the subject and used a PowerPoint slide pre-sentation to support and explain the paper. The main point of the presentation was that in today’s business environment, the End User of valves cannot aord to buy inferior equipment. The liability and the cost to shut down and replace a poor-quality valve is too great to take the risk. The presentation was a 30-minute talk and seemed to be well received. After the pre-sentation, several attendees asked for cop-ies of the PowerPoint. They wanted to show it to their companies to strengthen the argu-ment for buying better valves than has been the practice in the past.WOM has participated in this exhibition for about a decade now.

WOM Cricket Club (WOMCC)- The Champion’s JourneyWOM Cricket Club best known as WOMCC in Houston Cricket Circuit was formed in the year 2014 with complete support from the WOM Management to convene all cricket enthusiasts at WOM and give them an op-portunity to play Cricket. The team started with just a few people playing Cricket for fun after work, but soon after the WOMCC team members worked very hard to build one of the best teams in Houston. Over the next few years, the WOMCC built a reputation by participating in premier Cricket tourna-ments in Houston. The team is built the on principle of fair play and taking a profession-al approach towards the game of cricket. Foremost, WOMCC would like to thank WOM Management for their unconditional sup-port throughout this journey.WOMCC participated in the Houston Taped

Ball Cricket League (HTBC), one of the pre-mium cricket leagues in Houston consisting of the best teams of 2014 for the rst time, and reached the Seminals in the very rst tournament. None of the other teams in the league believed the WOMCC would make it to the Seminals in their rst tournament. With the success of the rst tournament, WOMCC became a permanent member of the HTBC, performing exceedingly well across many tournaments. WOMCC estab-lished itself as one of the consistently top ranked teams in the league. Due to the repu-table performance of the WOMCC, the team was invited to play for the inaugural winter league of India House Cricket Tournament (IHTC) in 2015.The tournament consisted of 16 teams from Houston and WOMCC again, made it to the seminals in the rst tournament of a league. This proved the team can perform in any league and against any opposition. The WOMCC was now being recognized by all the other teams and league organizers as one of the teams to watch closely.WOMCC reached 6 consecutive seminals after the inaugural tournament and estab-lished itself as one of the top teams in the League. However, the team was disappoint-ed with not making into the nals after reaching 6 consecutive seminals.Nevertheless, the defeat only made the team more determined to become the champi-ons of the next tournament. The WOMCC trained harder and played with even more zeal and passion to overcome the seminals’ hurdle. Through this commitment, the team

reached the nals in the winter league 2016 of India House Houston Premier League (IH-HPL). This time there was no stopping the WOMCC from reaching the goal, in one of the most critical performances of the team’s journey, the WOMCC became league cham-pions and won their rst trophy. The nal match was said to be an undisputable win with the WOMCC crushing their opponents at every stage of the game. From competing with 10 teams in the rst tournament to 24 teams in the last, every tournament helped grow the team’s pop-ularity and strength. Being champions amongst a high caliber of teams, is an ac-complishment and victory the WOMCC will cherish for time to come. It is also highly commendable that even though the team played an exceptional game, the WOMCC is recognized as “TRUE CHAMPIONS” by the other teams and or-ganizers for the good sportsmanship con-ducted in the eld. New players and players from other teams have expressed their wish to join the WOMCC. The WOMCC has worked hard to be a respected team in the Houston Cricket Circuit. After the Win, the WOMCC hosted a party to celebrate victory with current and former team members. WOMCC team is now playing in the current tournament and are the leading team hold-ing the championship. WOMCC is on top of the list for the current tournament. WOMCC and its members look forward to continuing the winning streak and creating a legacy of their own in the Houston Cricket Circuit.
