1. Manage you time - Spend a while making a study schedule as beautifully decorated as you like. Manage your time so that you don’t spend too long on one subject and therefore you can make sure that you cover everything.

2. Just do a tiny chunk - There is nothing harder than studying, so sit down and tell yourself that you will just do 20 minutes. It is better than nothing and you might find that you have so much to do that you continue. Starting

is the hardest part!

3. Exercise - Study for no more than an hour and then go and do something active for 10-15 minutes. You can only concentrate for so long...

4. Eat! - Right so maybe not junk food and sugar because this will give you a short rush of energy. Instead, boost your brain with an apple or a muesli bar.

5. Write notes - writing things down can be a brilliant way to absorb the information and it gives you something to read over that is short and all in one

place. As you start to know that you have the sections covered, begin to focus on specific areas so that they only include the information you don’t

know or the basics.

How To: Study...

6. Flash cards - There are so many flash card apps such as Smartr and Quizlet which mean that you don’t have to make your own, but often making your own is yet

another method of studying.

7. Make associations - The most effective way to retain information is to "tie" it to existing information that's already lodged in your mind.

8. TURN OFF YOUR INTERNET - Don’t even tempt yourself with distractions. Instead, when your mind can’t concentrate anymore, give

yourself several minutes as something to work towards - an incentive.

9. Make a study group - If you don’t understand something, you have someone to ask and often having to explain things to others can cement

the information for yourself. Motivate one another!

10. Make studying interesting - Make visual diagrams, flow charts and draw. Get creative. If you find what you are studying interesting then you will

take in the information 100 times better than if you don’t.

After many conversations in the common room, we can conclude that what a teacher is wearing makes a huge impact on the learning that goes on in the classroom. A fashionable teacher makes us feel better as it lightens the room and

makes school ‘fun’ whilst providing extra ‘street respect’ for the teacher.

Señora Wedlake is one of the A-listers on the fashionable teachers list. She is always looks top notch, no matter what

day of the week it is. Definitely a role model for other teachers. Follow in her footsteps! Take a peak at Señora

Wedlake’s wardrobe and you might get some tips!

“Generally, I get my clothes from different places - including Ballantynes, Evolution, Sole X Shoes, Anna Stretton, Andrea

Biani and Factor.”

Señora’s favourite colours are orange, pink and black and loves to splash a little bit of colour sometimes! Her favourite clothes to wear are boots and rain

jackets lucky for her it’s winter! 10.

Help! Whenever I go to class, I always get bored! What can I do?!

Brittles: Sometimes class can be boring, so there are some things you can do. Often I find that what is going on in class is not exciting or I don’t understand what is going on. You always see girls looking at the ends of their hair - myself included - and what they are doing is looking for split ends. There is a fine art to this, and it can take a lot of practice to be able to detect them properly. Good thing we want to waste time! There are different kind of split ends and many different shapes. Most often you see the regular split ends. This is the most common form of split end, where there is just one split at the end of a strand. Learn the basic shapes of split ends to try detect them. Make it a game! Then if you want to cut them (not always recommended) just go to the hairdresser.

Ask Brit and Gaby...

11. 12.

Gaby: Firstly, don’t listen to anything Brittles says. Just suck it up and do the work you need to. There are only so many times you can check your email in one lesson. If you let your boredom stop you from doing the work, then you will just have more to do later. Seems simple, but that’s really all you can do! If you can, try and find one thing that you enjoy about each class, whether it be the teacher, the topic you are doing, or even the building you are in. Periods are only 55 minutes most of the time, so it will be over before you know it.
