For this task I have compared a UK comedy chat show with an American one

• Studio based British Comedy chat show• Interviews various celebrities from actors to

musicians mostly with humor.• Live performances from music to actors

reenacting scenes from their movies e.g. Gerard Butler introducing other guest in the 300 voice

• Frequent guests who are comedians themselves

• Shows different products mostly amusing• HD content since 2009

Set looks/Design• Different colors and screens showing diferent things in the

backdrop.• Desk for the presenter shows he is working and the sofa for

the celebrity to make them more relaxed and welcome.• Doesn’t change often. • A separate lounge that shows waiting guest through

something like a window (green room)• Camera tracks, zoom and pan. • At the end of the show, there is a musical performance from

a performer or a group.

Music

• There is an in house band that performs live and guest music. Every time a guest enters the studio, the band will perform a segment of a song, usually one that is fitting to the guest

• Applause from the studio audience.

Audience

• Often don’t show the studio audience but we can here the applause.

• Interacts with audience by asking the Audience ('shall I get my first/next guest out?‘)

• The show has involves all kinds of artist so there is something for every one. And its quite a laugh

• The shows are very similar as they both are night comedy chat shows filled with humor and the audience would be interested as they can see the different side of the celebrities.

• Both have live music and an in house band.• The sets are similar in design and both have one

male presenter.• They both target similar audience and had

similar scandals.

• They both designed to give celebrity publicity both in America and in UK as Friday night shows in America now and they invite celebrities from deferent places.

• The difference is Jimmy Kimmel has more out of studio activities than Jonathan Ross as he does celebrity gossip

• One is UK and the other American• The music played by the in house bands are different

as one plays what suits the guest
