MARSHAL TITO IN INTERVIEd WITH BULGARIAN JOURNJiLISTS

Belgrade! Premier of the Yugoslav Govern-ment Marshal Josip Broz Tito recently received a groupof Bulgarian journalists who toured Yugoslavia. In aninterview which lasted one-hour the Bulgarian journaliststold Marshal Tito of what they had seen in Yugoslavia andsaid that everything rested on a solid base.

Marshal Tito then, said that 'things, have beenentirely .changed. The people, he said, are beingre-educated through the . reconstruction of the country. He said that big projects, such as the railroad projectin Bosnia, have resulted in strengthening of unity ofthe Yugoslav peoples.

. In explaining the meaning of the People's frontin , Yugoslavia, narshal Tito stressed the unity which hasresulted from its functioning. Sin Yugoslavia and said •that for ;the' small peoPles the unity is very important. He:'said there are many reasons why the Slav peoples inthe'Balkans shotld be united,, and, no one should inter-fere with it, he added.

One Bulgarian jbUrnaliat asked Marshal 2ito'sopitiOn on the SloVene Carinthia to . which_he.replied:"The prospects for our' receiving what Wea'sked are verypoor.. -That We shill 'get something:and' do something .in order to,- get "it, I an sure. However, he said,th.10 . doesnot-Trean that . such solution is eternal. WeMust .obeythe decisions because_eur country is a memberOf the United Nations.- 'But, he said, this does notmean that'we'shOuld take OUT hands off and aree to suchdeciSion for all times. he fact is that the Sloveneslive there, that they live there for more than athousand yeFu-. . This fact cannot be disputed by anybodyand we cannot renounce this fact. If we are denied toreceive what belongs to us, it will mean that a veryincorrect solution has been made, bpt we'll have toaccept it because we ore members of the UN. "What canwe do," 'said Marshal Tito, they (the imperialists, presumably) have the majorit7' there.'

Many injustices have been done to us,continued Larshal Tito with respect to peace treaty.Injustice was done . to. us.in Venezia Giulia. Triestewas actually severed from a healthy body. Such thingsare happening to satisfy Hrinternational interests'.."What: can we do,' he said. "We must a,lAce sacrificestd- stren6then the . peace. ..4'his is our duty..''

The ConVersation . then was switched to thesituation in Greece whichEarshal Tito took•as anexample • ih order to point out the significance of theunion of a powerful monolj, thic . whole. Our unity inthe 13alkans seems to annoY'Eny people, said MarshalTito. "Ii-owever, he added, this unity is, indeed,essential- Well, you have read about planespenetrating 14 km into Albanian territory.and • machine-gunning women and children for three-quarters-of-an-hours.

You can well see what sort of a provocation is this.Should it not excite every honest man. This is awar crime and it is being Perpetrated after c:11 thatthis people: have suffered. That whicii. is toeyhappening in Greece is unheard of terror being, perpetrateV, under the protection of certain privilegedcircles. 'We know that this is 'not being .done by theGreek people. We know the Greek people. The Greekpeople fOught 'during the war and fight now, but whatcan they. do when they (the irperialists ) jump on theirbacks. They wanted to do the same 'thing over here, but we knew hot to utilize the arms which. we possessedand to protect the achievements which we won in war bybloody , sacrincbs."

?.-a.r .ahal Tito waS then asked to give detailson the five economic . plan. Here he 'mentioned theSamac-SarajeVo youth railroad project and pointed, outthe enthusiasm of the Yugoslav youth . working, on the.project. He said that the most difficult questionin connection. -with' general progress is the question ef -skilled .wor kers , While the. material ' means, were not:the

RADIO 'VENEZIA GIULIA COMENT ON "IRON CURTAIN"

In a comment entitled: "What is happeningbehind the iron curtain?" Radio Venezia Giulia speakspn the-present situation in the Balkan and Danubiancountries: and especially in ilungary where conflietingreports speak of a coup d'etat, inspired by Russiawhich would like to have in this countries an -obedient

• government before the withdrawal of her own troopsfrom it. In order to justify the coup d'etat, Russia

• logically talks about a reactiOnary conspiracy headedby the very president of the government. This is incontradiction with the movements Of high personAetsand premiers which has been observed during therecent days in the countries whibh were onde called'

• the "Little Entente". Rumania and Hungary; whichhate each other same as cat and dog does, exchangeddiplomatic visits. The official reason for thesevisits: the . Rumanian famine which could be remediedonly with the —Hungarian wheat. Similarly there'.were courtesy culls between Austria and Czechoslovakia, and other visits and contadts have been foreseen. As the conductor of the orchestra IS' in 1:Osoow onehad to suppose that the new music had to be the onehe wanted and directed: a federation among the progres-sive democracies in the Danubian aector whose one ofthe chief leaders should have 'been Yugoslavia. ButAustria which once had been the center of theDanubian constellation could become the center of anew combination if IYuoslavia should again threatenwith the invasion of her territpry and stir theSlovene irredentiam. If these are the signs on thesurface inside these countries and in their politicalunderground, movements which under different formshave the same aim are being encouraged: to free thepeople from the totalitarian rule controlled by Russia. In Yugoslavia, according to the reports which we -

• already brought and which we shall bring in the future, the guerrillas are ever more violent and ever bolder. In Hungary for the second time the conspiracy is beingorganized by the government itself. It'is enough toread an old number of NOVU VR .JILYA, organ of theGomintern, in order te sea that the progressive regimesare troubled by'rebellious movements which do not keep

. quiet and have in store, for the next 6ummer, somesurprises. As it is known, the elections in Hungarygave a government democratic majority.and a democraticassembly in the western sense of the word. And, if

• from this same majority there come connections withconspirators and foreign Countries, as well asconspiracies in short intervals, the interpretationmust be this: Russia does not like a democraticHungary in the western sense of the word and now itis necessary to exploit more or less real conspiraciesin order to suppress her rnd establish another onewhich is so near and which we all know.
